Minjeong's POV

Jimin and I were strolling along the pier, enjoying the cool ocean breeze. It's been 7 years since we've started dating and I was ready to make it official.

Jimin was just so perfect.

She was smart, charismatic, beautiful, and I could go on forever. But she was also head-strong. Everything has to live up to her expectations and she always sets them higher than Mt. Everest.

So it took a while to think this proposal through. I didn't want to go as extravagant as a dinner by the beach, or as insane as skydiving together and asking her then. I know she'd kill me if that was my proposal.

So my final decision was to keep it simple and a little corny. Hopefully she'll be able to feel my love for her through my speech to patch up any missing elements.

The sun was beginning to set and the plane should arrive soon. My arm was around her waist as she leaned into me. I could smell the enticing perfume she loves to wear and my flannel that I could never take repossession of.

"Bubba look!" She tugged my arm and pulled me to the edge to see some dolphins showing themselves from the water. "Today must be our lucky day."

I stared at her profile as her eyes were still entranced by the sea creatures in the distance.

I grew nervous as I heard the plane engine roaring in the background and felt the weight of that velvet box growing heavier in my pocket.

I leaned closer to her and felt the warmth radiate off her body. "Everyday with you is lucky."

Jimin cutely pouted and whine before playfully shoving me. "Cheesy as always."

I pulled her towards me again. "But you love it."

"Only because I love you." She smiled.

I leaned my forehead against the side of her head and chuckled. "I love you more."

Before she could protest, I kissed her. It was difficult because we both were smiling into the kiss, but I felt a shiver down my spine when her cold hand reached up to cup my face.

We pulled apart and I couldn't look away from those beautiful brown eyes. Until I saw her attention divert to something in the sky.

The plane flew over and was in the middle of writing something in the sky. Slowly the letters 'MARRY' showed up before Jimin spoke up.

"Looks like someone's getting proposed to." She said.

Now the plane was almost done with 'ME'.

"Yeah." I simple responded and tried to hide my smile.

She sighed and held my arm. "I kinda feel bad for whoever it is."

Huh?

"W-what do you mean?" I felt my palms get sweaty as my eyes glossed over.

She was still looking at the sky as the plane was finishing up with a heart next to it.

"I mean it's embarrassing. Imagine how much attention you'd gather and everyone seeing your name." I froze as I swallowed the lump in my throat. She finally turned her head to me and widened her eyes as she cupped my face. "Hey, hey. Why are you crying?"

I gave her a sad look and my arm dropped to me side before looking back up in the sky as the final letters were close to being finished.

She turned back up as well and a tiny gasp escaped her lips.

'YU JIMIN' was displayed for everyone along the bay area to see.

"I'm sorry." I muttered as I made some distance between us. Her head whipped back towards me.

She shook her head and pulled me close. "No. No, don't apologize." She gripped at my back as if she was scared she was going to lose me. "I should be the one to apologize. I'm so sorry, Minjeong."

I let out a sad laugh and pulled the box out of my pocket.

I opened it and stared down at the shining diamond in the center. "Will you still marry me, even if this didn't go as I initially planned?" I said as I still couldn't bring myself to look into her eyes.

I heard her sniffle and felt the cold hands on my face again. She pulled my face up to meet her eyes.

"Yes. A thousand times, yes." She whispered and smiled. "And I'm sorry for what I just said. Nothing could ever excuse me for it, but I want to make it up to you as well." I furrowed my eyebrows as she dragged to me to the end of the pier. "Take off your shoes."

We stopped momentarily to take them off before stepping onto the sand and walking along the bottom of an overhanging cliff.

As we turned the corner, a candle lit dinner on the beach was set up. Plates, glasses, wine, food, everything was there and it was beautiful.

"Jimin..." I could only trail off as she pulled us closer and gave a shy, but still hesitant smile.

She turned around and pulled me closer. Her hands reached for a little box set near the centerpiece of the table and, inside, was a beautiful ring.

"You know I hate being cheesy and this might be a bit cliche, but will you please forgive me and marry me?" She knelt down on one knee as her eyes filled with her precious tears.

I looked at her with such adoration that, for a moment, I forgot why I was even feeling sad.

I couldn't let her beat me to it so I also knelt down and propped open the box. "Yes, I forgive you and marry you, but you'll need to put on the ring first because I, technically, asked first."

She let out a laugh and leapt forward to pull me into a searing kiss. I moved my hand to reach down for the ring and grabbed her left hand to slip it on her ring finger without breaking our lips apart. Seconds later, I felt her do the same and I smiled into the kiss when I felt the cold metal around my finger.

I snaked my arm around her waist and gently turned her over to lay her down on the sand as her arms wrapped around my neck.

We broke apart and could not get the smiles off our faces.

"We're such idiots." She let out.

We laughed together before I leaned back down to rub my nose against hers.

"You still owe me though." I said as my lips ghosted over hers. "I may have forgiven you, but I won't forget it anytime soon."

Jimin playfully rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Fine. What do you want?" She asked as I began kissing her cheek. "More kisses?"

My lips trailed down to her jawline and proceeded to her neck. "You give me plenty."

"More sex?"

I momentarily broke apart from her neck to smirk at her. "I don't think we even needed a situation like this to have more sex."

She grunted and pulled me back down, closer to her. She kissed me and swiped a tongue across my lip to gain access which I happily granted. We fought for dominance, but of course I wouldn't let her get it that easily.

We pulled away and slightly panted to catch our breaths. "How about...I'll let you stay under the water longer the next time we shower together."

My eyes shot open with excitement. I immediately nodded and peppered kisses all over her face. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!"
