DD AND I were now standing outside ddot's building waiting for him to come downstairs with the rest of their group. i was a little nervous but i did what i had to do to push those feelings down, as long as i was being me it didn't matter if they liked me or not. that was something i had to keep reminding myself.
i sat on the concrete stairs a few feet away from the door to the building, dd stood a few inches in front of me as he concentrated on the blunt he was currently rolling. i smiled gently as i watched him, his eyebrows crinkled as he focused. i pull my vape out of the pocket to my white sweater, putting it to my lips to inhale immediately,
the silence is comfortable, but it doesn't last long with david. silence never does with him, that's something i noticed even while we facetimed. "where did you live before you moved here, anj?" the corner of my lips pulled upwards at the new nickname. the single syllable rolled smoothly off his tongue, making heat poke at my cheeks.
i take another pull of the mango flavored air, ghosting the smoke the best i could before starting to speak. "i was born in tha bronx, an' raised in brooklyn." the answer is short, subtly begging him to ask further, but i want him to show me that he wants to actually have a conversation with me.
