Bucky Barnes' head is full of chaos, his past haunting him as he tries his hardest to move forward. All he wants after years and years of fighting, mostly against his will, is peace.

Eden Williams is a mess. Her work as a therapist hasn't prevented her from becoming a prisoner of her own mind, life stuck in the mud as she struggles to move forward. All she wants after years and years of fighting, mostly against herself, is peace.

When the two run into each other after Bucky's session with Dr Raynor, it sends them both into the deep end. Their lives entwine, calming the storms they both find themselves battling - but how much can someone bring you peace when a hurricane still brews inside you?

hello!!

i am VERY out of practice w this so pls bare with me - i haven't written anything on here for such a long time, and this is my first go at a bucky fic so !!!! very nervous

this fic has been in my head for a VERY long time now, & after sitting on it for ages i decided it was time to actually start writing. it's been so interesting exploring bucky's mental state & trying to write how i think he'd navigate a relationship after all that he's been through (i have a psych degree so i love thinking about shit like that) & also developing his relationship with eden - she's equally been really fun to write & i hope you enjoy her character as much as i do

that being said, this fic will deal with some heavy topics, such as anxiety, depression & PTSD. i'm going to be exploring the mentalities of people affected by these disorders & mention symptoms etc - mental health / mental illness are very central to the characters & the plot, so a big warning here for those kind of topics. there won't be anything too graphic (no heavy details about distressing events or mentions of s*icide or anything like that), but regardless if that's something you don't enjoy reading about/will get triggered by then pls don't read on!

(it won't be all doom & gloom , do not worry - still want my characters to be happy <3 )

there will also be mentions of violence, guns, injuries (i'll add specific warnings to chapters bc these will be popping up here & there), again nothing too graphic at all but once again i don't want to trigger anyone so please proceed with caution <3

there WILL be smut (eventually) :) bucky is a very troubled man so i'm not gonna rush into it straight away, but it will come !  so for that reason & also the reasons mentioned above if you're underage PLS do not read further !!! strictly 18+

speaking of bucky, this fic is MY characterisation of him & his actions & how i personally believe he would act in certain situations. that's not to say my characterisation is correct (bc it definitely isn't!!), but if there's something you disagree with or believe he would act differently then pls just keep it to yourself. we all see him differently & at the end of the day this is purely fiction & he is a fictional character - let's just enjoy the work other people do & try to be constructive, not mean <333
