TUESDAY

I got out of class and met Harry at his place like I promised. I had a voicemail from Dr. Myer, waiting for me, but I promised I wouldn't listen to it until we were together.

Harry arrived shortly after me, hugging me tightly, "We should've just stayed home."

"Baby, we both had midterms, it's fine. Now sit, and let me listen to this."

He nodded sitting on the couch, and I put the phone to my ear, playing the voicemail. I paced back and forth as I listened and when it ended I put my phone to my chest sighing.

"It's benign. He just has to remove the extra tissue, but I'm okay." I cried softly and Harry did too.

He was up and over to me so quickly, pulling me so close against his body, kissing the top of my head over and over.

"I'm going to be there that day. I don't care. I'm going to take care of you." He said into my head and I hugged him as tight as I could.

"Okay baby, okay," I broke the hug and kissed him softly, "I'm going to start a hot shower okay, and call Dr. Myer back to see when I have to get everything done."

He nodded and kissed me again, "Let me know okay, so I can plan ahead."

I smiled softly and nodded, turning around and heading into the bathroom to start my shower, calling Dr. Myer back as I did.

FRIDAY

I was checked in my hospital room waiting to be taken in for my surgery. Harry sat in the chair next to me and was both worried and upset with me. He had insisted I tell my parents and I kept telling him I didn't want to be my mothers sob story at Sunday tea. No one other than him needed to know as it was nothing serious.

"Harry, please stop being upset with me." I looked over at him.

"I just think they should know Lacey. My mum would murder me if I hid something like this from her."

"It's just a surgery to remove excess tissue, that's it, it's nothing major."

He nodded and sighed, "I'm not upset with you. I just don't want this to be an argument for you later."

"It won't, baby." I smiled trying to reassure him, and he got up walking over and kissing my forehead.

"Miss Burket, we are ready for you." The nurse came and walked over to us beginning to get ready to roll me out.

Harry kissed my lips quickly and nodded, "I'll be here."

"Okay." I smiled and nodded back.

I woke up with my body laid on its side, with pillows holding me up. Harry had fallen asleep with his head on my bed holding my hand.

I used my other hand to brush his hair out of his face, causing him to wake up.

"Hey babe." I whispered and smiled.

"Lacey, how do you feel honey?"

"Mmm, sore."

He nodded, "They said you would. Sorry it's not the most comfortable position."

"It's okay." I smiled softly, "Go home and sleep Harry, I'll be fine."

"No." he kissed my hand softly.

"Baby, I really want to be alone tonight. Please? This has all been really triggering for me. I just, want some space." I smiled small at him and he nodded, placing his forehead on our hands.

"Okay," He finally said softly, "Let me just find out when they think you are going home, okay?"

I nodded and he kissed my hand again getting up to go find the nurse.

SUNDAY

We got back to Harry's loft and there were multiple flower vases on the kitchen nook.

"What's all this?" I asked, turning to look at Harry.

"Niall has a big mouth. But don't worry, they all know they can't say anything. Chester has been calling me nonstop." Harry said, placing my bag down and I looked over the flowers.

"Yeah, I talked to him today. He wasn't too happy with me." I smiled softly.

He walked over and wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my shoulder softly, "Does it hurt?"

I shook my head, "No, just sore."

"Good. That's always better than pain." I nodded and turned to face him, leaning up and kissing him deeply.

"Thank you for being there with me." I said when I finally broke the kiss.

"I'd be an idiot if I made you go by yourself." he smiled, moving my hair behind my ear.

"Let's just move on from this? Okay? I have a paper to write and I'm hungry, and I'm just glad this is all over." He nodded in agreement.

"I'll make us some pasta, go get settled. I promise this week will be like nothing happened."

I nodded and took a deep breath, heading into the room to get ready for the night.
