While walking the halls of her high school, Y/N's girlfriend, Kate Bishop, pulled her aside.
"Hey, what's up, darling?" Y/N asked, studying Kate's distressed face.
"We need to talk," Kate said with a hint of urgency in her voice. Y/N couldn't help but feel off about the conversation, but she decided to brush it off.
"Mhm, go on,"
"Yeah, um," Kate said as she looked down and fiddled with her fingers, "We need to break up."
Y/N paused

Did she hear her right?
Y/N couldn't speak for a moment. It seemed as though everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
"What...?" Was all that Y/N could muster.
"I'm sorry, Y/N," Kate said before taking off.
There stood a confused, sad, and most of all, heartbroken Y/N. This moment was seared into Y/N memory as the day the love of her life left her.
