Taking A Look Back.

Wake up in a warm blanket on a winter day and dread getting up because of the chilliness of the room. See the honey in the old mason jar shine in the kitchen window. Feel the cat rub against my leg and give him so food. Open all the blinds in the house and let the early morning light flood the house, saves power I hear Dad say. I nod my head and agree. Get dressed and run a brush through that mop, Dad says we're going to town to run a few errands. Run up stairs throw on some old jeans and hand-me-down shirt along with some boots, brush my hair and head back downstairs. See Dad light a cigarette and give Mom a kiss goodbye. Jump in the truck and turn on the dusty radio and listen to Led Zeppelin. After the errands are done, go eat at the diner and order a grilled cheese with a glass of chocolate milk.

Days like this I miss the most...
