Haruka immediately turned prideful. "Of course, I'm a prodigy when it comes to assigning nicknames, A- hold on let me come up with one for you..."
Amasawa flashed Haruka a bright smile. "I'm also a prodigy at giving nicknames, Oppai-sen one. But I'd rather not have one assigned to me. Unless it's from Ayanokouji-sen~pai, of course."
"EHH!" Both Haruka and Airi let out the same noise. Whether it was due to Amasawa's misleading claim or the vulgar nickname, I had no clue.
"Ah, I didn't forget about you, Oppai-sen two." Airi flushed at the attention being brought to her. She shuffled her feet and tried to hide behind Haruka, but Amasawa wouldn't stop teasing her.
"Amasawa, settle down or get out." Though I may have sounded a bit rude, I'd like to get this over with sooner rather than later. This day feels like it'll never end. "Now, I assume you all came here to interrogate me?"
Akito spoke up. "Uh, yeah. We had no idea you were so smart." I noticed Keisei clench his fists. "But that can wait, what's your relationship with this kouhai?"
Before Amasawa could start making a fuss, I made sure to shut down any possibility of a misunderstanding. "I owe her for helping Sudou in the exam. To repay that, she made me her personal chef." So I said, but the majority of our encounters haven't been related to food. It seemed to be more of a pretext than anything.
"I'm relieved, Kiyopon. I thought you had been snatched up by this kouhai." Airi nodded, enthusiastically agreeing with Haruka's statement.
"Enough about her, I know I said it earlier, Ayanokouji, but I want answers." Keisei, rather Yukimura, had gotten to the heart of the matter.
"Horikita's explanation wasn't enough for you, Yukimura?" Haruka shot me a quick glare. I supposed she must have thought using each other's family names would cause our friendship to regress, but it already was fracturing.
"Of course not. She isn't you, so how could her answering for you be enough? We were supposed to be friends." Looks like he's lost all trust in me. Horikita's explanation was proving to be more harmful than anything else.
"So... what would you like me to say?" Since the others weren't asking questions, I assumed that they didn't care nearly as much as Yukimura did. I suppose it would be shocking to find out that someone was hiding the fact that they're better than you in your own best subject. His pride must've been hurt too, perhaps even as much as his trust.
He contemplated my question for a bit. The others seemed to be invested in our conversation. Considering they were part of our group it was understandable. Surprisingly, Amasawa was staying silent. Her eyes seemed uncharacteristically calculating. "I... While I would like to know about your past, it would be insensitive to ask that of you. Though, lying to us about your abilities is also insensitive. Just... give me your reasons. Why did you hide it? Why didn't you trust us enough to at least tell us you were hiding your abilities?"
"Yukimura, were you serious about leaving the group earlier?"
He nodded in affirmation to my question. "I still am." The other three were visibly shocked at this revelation.
"I see. Then, I'm sorry. I don't think any answer I give will be satisfactory." The others' expressions went from shocked to sad. Amasawa seemed to be looking at me, almost as if she were searching for something. "But, I don't think my actions should cut off your ties with the others." From a logical standpoint, I should be the only one being cut off. "I will give you my reason, if that is unsatisfactory I will leave the group."
