Chapter 24: Challenged

Tiyanak talaga 'tong batang 'to. Though, Clark didn't look like he was hurt by it but he was screaming as if it would kill him any time. He just signaled me to go upstairs habang nagkukunwaring nasasaktan. At kahit hindi ko alam ang gagawin sa itaas, umakyat na lang din ako.

I could hear Luan shouting habang tawa nang tawa si Clark—yung tawa na pang-villain.

Umakyat na 'ko sa second floor at eksaktong kabubukas lang ng pinto ng unang room. Lumabas doon si Eugene na naka-school uniform. He wore a simple white short-sleeved blouse with a royal blue vest paired with royal blue pants. He smelled so teenage boy.

"Hi, Tita Sab! Good morning po!" He greeted me with a kiss on my right cheek and pointed to the other door next to his. "Dada said you're coming for breakfast. Mimy's in the master's bedroom." Saka siya nagmamadaling bumaba sa hagdanan. "Dada, si Mimy raw po magse-service sa akin sa school!"

I was a bit culture-shocked with Leo's household. Siguro kasi ganito rin ang panic namin ni Kuya when we were kids, but it was Inday Sita who would bombarded us with all the sermon and scolding na ganitong time, dapat naka-prepare na kami, or else, papaluin kami sa kamay. Hindi lang ako sanay na ganito rin sa kanila. May sense of familiarity na nakakakilabot.

I knocked on the second door and Kyline opened it after my third knock.

"Hello, Sab!" she greeted so lively. Kyline doesn't look like she's a mom of two. She wore a black fitted cropped top with long sleeves and high-waisted denim pants. It only showed her perfect curves na napapaisip na ako kung may kasya bang damit niya sa 'kin. Mas malaki siyang babae kaysa sa 'kin, pero baka meron naman.

Ky's hair is long, black, and shiny. It accentuates her slim waist na parang hindi naman nanganak sa dalawang bata. Ang tambok pa ng puwet at boobs. Kaya siguro in love dito araw-araw si Leo.

"You wear dresses, 'no?" she asked. "I hope this is fine with you, Sab. Baka kasi may mas prefer kang brand."

She handed me a boho tunic dress and all the accessories were placed on their bed.

"Clark said you're a medium," sabi niya, at parang nanghihinayang pa. "Sorry, large kasi ang size ko. Hindi kita mapahiram ng pants kasi baka hindi mag-fit, unless you're okay sa leggings. Gamit ko 'yon during my maternity days, okay lang ba?"

"No, I'm okay with this," I replied with a genuine smile.

"Oh, thanks. Pili ka na lang ng accessories. We're same naman ng bust size, here's a pair of bra. Clark said 37 daw ang waist mo, but I thought he was talking about your hips. Hindi ka naman kasi mukhang 37. Mas malaki ang waist ko sa 'yo, but I hope, okay lang ang string bikini bottom para ma-adjust mo ang size. Don't worry, I washed that but hindi ko pa nasusuot." And she gave me a wink.

"Thank you, Ky."

"You're welcome!" She hugged me tightly and tapped me on the back. "Si Leo na ang bahala sa inyo ni Clark, ha? I'll take Eugene sa school first. Byeeee!"

That was all and she left the room, reminding me to lock it kung magbibihis na 'ko.

I let out a sigh and took a look at the whole master bedroom. May family picture sa side ng doorway. Sa ilalim n'on ang side table. It wasn't that huge gaya kina Mum and Dad. Mas malaki pa nga ang bedroom ni Clark. Or maybe nagmukhang maliit kasi ang daming gamit sa loob. Not really messy, but there was a corner na puro na stuffed toys and building blocks. The rest, blank na at queen-sized bed na lang ang makikita. Walang salamin kahit saan. Wala ring cabinets. May isang pintuan sa dulo, and I guess that's the bathroom.

Bukas ang bintana sa left side ng kama, but may white and yellow curtain naman na nakasara. From there, sumisilip ang sun rays mula sa labas.

Mukha ngang nagmamadali si Kyline kasi hindi man lang niya napuna na kahit panty, wala akong suot.
