I stood there, staring at the thousands of people. Only if they knew I was here to kill them. I sighed loudly before looking up at Amity. Her eyes were tired. Her shoulders were slumped and she was staring at me as if she was begging for me to get us out of this. I can't get out of something this bad. I looked down to my black boots. The mud was getting worse as the rain started pouring down. Sirens started to blare as the line of us got longer. The Choosing was today. The day where I might be chosen to become a royal guard.
I looked back up, the line of women started to move faster as more and more royal trainers came and picked their people they were choosing. If you weren't chosen it was as bad as getting disowned from your own family so I hear. I shivered as the rain started to pour down. As the rain pounded my back and my shoulders People started to huddle together to keep warm. I glanced around a bit. People here seemed nice. Nice enough to share their own jackets to keep warm. I don't want to harm them.
