Chapter 3: In a getaway car

Start from the beginning

"Won't he wake up when u put him down?" Jamil was implying that he wants to take Kalim home. Well he doesn't look too good, and if he had to guess he's dealing with a headache this whole time they're together. Curiosity does get the better of him, he wonders how he lives and where he lives now. Well, his wife is probably waiting for him at home so he'll probably be intruding, but he has no plans on staying long anyways. Plus was it so bad he wants to help out a bit, friends help each other, and that's what they were.

Just friends.

"He's not fussy and he's a heavy sleeper so I'll manage...somehow...kids grow up fast before I knew it Amir was getting heavier." The sultan sighs.

"So let me drive for you."

"Eh?" The thought had flustered Kalim. He doesn't want Jamil to be troubled by him. Again. His first instinct was to refuse, but, that handsome face of his made it hard to do so. He wanted to see it for a little longer.

"No it's alright Jamil...I can take care of it." He avoids eye contact with Jamil.

"It's alright I insist, looks like you're struggling, and, we're friends aren't we? Friends help each other." Honestly he's just making up an excuse to be with him for a bit longer. He wanted to soothe that sting in his chest, he wanted to look at him for a bit longer, stay with him. To Jamil the feeling was strange but it's welcome, he might not even get the chance again as, if Najma was correct, too focused on his work.

He watches and sighs as he see Kalim a flustered mess. Is he really that bothered that he wants to help him? And then it clicked, Kalim thinks Jamil is doing this because he has too. "I guess old habits die hard."

"I'm doing this out of my own free will you know..." Jamil reassures the white haired male. "And who knows it's the middle of the night...who knows what could attack you.." Ok maybe he took it too far scaring him a bit. But Jamil is a greedy man, if he *really* wants something he'll do even underhanded means to get it. Maybe he was being too manipulative with this.... Though he is just a bit worried, driving with a sickness was never good, especially in the dark.

"𝘑𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘳 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘳 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦?" He cursed almost facepalming himself

"Ok." Kalim stated very very simply.

"Huh? Wait you're saying you're fine with it?" Jamil flabbergasted in the statement said.

"Yeah! If you want to of course- Oh! I'll show you my house too-" Kalim said a but too loud for comfort, it almost woke up Amir.

"Ah..sorry..." He whispered this time.

Jamil chuckled, some things never change huh. "Alright give me your car keys and let's go."

"Alright!"

Kalim laid down Amir in the back and giving him a little blanket and pillow from the trunk. He kissed his forehead and quietly sat down in the passenger seat at the front.

Jamil was correct, Kalim was too much in pain to drive. Kalim was clearly uncomfortable, he tries to act normal and pretend that there was no killer headache he's currently dealing with. Jamil knew Kalim, he knows that when something's troubling him he won't say it, but it's very obvious that he's bothered. Kalim is still subtly massaging his temples and his eyebrows, furrowed.

Ever since they left Kalim's phone wouldn't stop ringing. Jamil did ask what it was, Kalim answered that it was just work stuff. There wasn't anything to worry about.
