Chapter 10 - The Satanist's Apprentice

Start from the beginning

"You're a sick son of a bitch." Sara spits at him

"Think about my offer." Bishop tells her. "We've got all seasons of Wynonna Earp all cued up for you, so...Take all the time you need."

"Season two's my favorite." Ava Clone says, leaving Sara to watch the show

***

Sara is fiddling with an object she can use as a weapon when the door opens. "Time for your checkup." Ava Clone says, walking into the medical room. She scans Sara. "Hmm. Vitals are good. Just gonna check your mobility." She says, taking the restraints off of Sara. "So are you an Earper for life yet?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm digging it." Sara says, watching Ava Clone take the restraints off. "You were totally right about season two. They really figured out what the show was, and they went with it."

"Well, I really hope that you're a Wayhaught shipper." Ava Clone says. "Because if you aren't, I have to–" And she's cut off when Sara grabs her in a choke hold with the object she was fiddling with to Ava Clone's neck

"Listen to me carefully." Sara growls. "You're gonna take me out of here and help me find a power source to fuel my ship, understood?"

"I can't do that. It's not in my DNA to disobey." Ava Clone says

"That's just what he wants you to think." Sara tells her. "Look, the only thing that's holding you back is you."

"And you with that thing at my throat." Ava Clone says

"Just promise you'll help me escape." Sara says

"Go ahead and kill me." Ava Clone says. "I'm disposable. He'll have another Nurse Ava ready by lunch."

"God, you are a human being!" Sara exclaims, pushing Ava Clone away from her and standing up. "You have a soul! You can decide for yourself what's right and what's wrong. Look, Bishop may have created you, but he doesn't control you."

"Well, at least I can verify that your mobility is working very well." Ava Clone says. "Back to bed, you."

"Ava. Please just think about what I said." Sara pleads. And with that, Ava Clone leaves the room and closes the door

***

Sara is doing pushups when Ava Clone walks in with a backpack. "A little late for a checkup, isn't it?" Sara asks

"I would've come sooner, but I had to wait until Bishop danced himself to sleep." Ava Clone says. "I want to help you."

"You do?" Sara asks

"What you said to me earlier really struck a nerve." Ava Clone says. "We are human. We do have souls and wants and dreams and opinions. What Bishop is doing here... it's an abomination."

"I knew there was some of that real Ava spirit in you." Sara says with a smile. "All right, the ship that we crashed in, it isn't far from here. I just need to find something to power it up."

"I brought you a fuel cell." Ava Clone says, opening her backpack to show Sara

"Look at you, thinking ahead. Let's go!" Sara exclaims, her and Ava Clone making their way out of the room. But then, Ava Clone slows down. Sara notices. "Hey, what's wrong?" She asks, making her way over to Ava Clone

"Who's we?" Ava Clone asks

"What are you talking about?" Sara questions

"You said the ship 'we' crashed in..." Ava Clone says. "You didn't come alone, did you?"

"Look it's...it's complicated." Sara says. "And I can't explain it right now. We need to leave. Now." She grabs Ava Clone's hand and pulls her

***

"All right, we just need to connect the fuel cell to the ship's mainframe." Sara says, walking into the ship. Suddenly, the ship sparks and guards walk in. "What did you do?"

"What I had to." Ava Clone says. "He's my maker."

"Sara." Bishop scolds, walking in. "I'm not only disappointed because our time together obviously meant nothing to you, but also because you didn't realize that this fuel cell is just my sleepy-wakey nightlight. So soothing, right? I'm gonna be honest. I actually needed you to lead me to the location of this ship so I could retrieve the rest of my cargo."

"Yeah, well, good luck with that, because I ejected all of them into the deep void of outer space." Sara tells him

"Sara Lance." Bishop laughs. "It's called data redundancy. Those capsules not only kept you safe during transport, they also extracted DNA samples from each and every one of you. I prefer to have live creatures to work with, but this is the next best thing."

"I'm not alone here." Sara reveals, trying to pull one last trick up her sleeve. "Your Ava Clone knows it..."

"Oh, please, Sara Lance." Bishop tuts. "Your friend...is dead." He says and Sara's heart stops in her chest. "Found her body this morning...Rotted."

In a split moment's decision, Sara begins to fight. She fights the guards and then makes her way over to Bishop, snapping his neck. Her victory is short lived when a dart hits her neck

"What the mother..." Sara trails off before passing out

3rd Person POV - Brooklyn

Brooklyn was far from dead. In fact, she had never felt better...

Curing herself with the alien blood was the first step in this whole shit show. The next matter at hand was finding out where the hell Sara Lance was on this alien planet

But after many many years of knowing her best friend, Brooklyn knew the first place that she wanted to look. The best bet Brooklyn had of finding Sara was to go to the middle of the action. This planet was crawling with guards that weren't hesitant on using their laser guns to shoot at Brooklyn. And they were guarding something. Or someone

And Brooklyn could bet any kind of money that Sara was there, in the middle of the action, where all the guards were

The only issue now? How to get there...

As she already knows, the planet is infested with these guards. Everywhere she goes, there is a guard waiting for her. Everywhere except the forests. And she learned this from hiding in the forests for the majority of her hellish stay on this planet

But she can't hide forever. She's cured now and she's stronger. She can feel Maddie's heart thumping against her own. And she's ready to fight some guards in order to find her best friend...

3rd Person POV - Sara

And when she wakes up, she's on the floor of the room she started out in...

The door opens to reveal Bishop. Alive. "That was quite an adventure we had out in the woods." Bishop says. "I think we had a real breakthrough, you and I! We're closer than ever now. Some might even say... inseparable."
