Lucius Malfoy, accompanied shortly by his son Draco, forced Ron and I into a dark passage way, with surely no light.
"Lumos," Lucius said, and light illuminated from his wand. "Make one wrong move, Potter and I'll blow your head off. That goes for you as well, Weasley."
Ron cringed as Lucius sneered his name. We were suddenly pushed down a series of long stairs, still tied to each other, which made it extremely uncomfortable for us.
"The door, Draco." Lucius barked.
Draco scrambled towards the door and tapped the lock with his wand, and it creaked open. Lucius shoved us into a dark room that smelled like dead bodies. There was absolutely no light. The door shut as Malfoy and Malfoy Junior trudged back up the stairs, mumbling inaudibly to each other.
Suddenly, an absolutely awful scream disrupted my ear drums and I did not have to think twice to know that it was Hermione's. This was the worse amount of pain I have ever felt. I brought my hands up to my ears and closed tightly, to drown out the sobbing and yelling from above. It was useless, as Hermione's and Bellatrix's interrogation was too loud.
"What is that awful, no good wretch doing to her?" Ron yelled.
"I dunno, but we have to get out of here. We have to get these ropes off, first." I whispered dimly. As if in sync, I felt a pair of small hands wrap around the ropes and jumped. I didn't need light. The bright white hair gave her away.
"Luna?" I said. She was picking at our ropes with a rusty old nail in her hand. It took a little while, and a few screams form above were heard, but in a few moments, the ropes were in a disarray on the ground.
As soon as Ron's ropes were free, he clicked the Deluminator and scooped Luna up in his arms.
"Ron?" I asked, confused, but a lightbulb went off as they kissed, slowly, softly, as if it would be their last in eternity.
Another one of Hermione's blood curdling scream caused the hairs on the back of my neck to sit straight up and I hissed at the sound of her torture. Ron and Luna broke apart, red faced, as if they had just only remembered what we were doing.
"Have I missed something?" I asked as they turned beet red.
"Well, at Bill's wedding...it just sort of happened, I guess. I promised her I would be back, and well.. Here I am. I just hoped we would meet under different circumstances, Lun."
Luna shrugged. "It's alright."
"Never mind, that. Luna, is there any way out of here."
"Unfortunately not. Mr Ollivander and I have been searching for a-"
"You mean to say you are not alone?" I said. Another scream boomed in my ear as if she was right next to me.
Luna shook her head, and turned to the corner where Ollivander the wand maker was laying on the floor, as if he had no idea how to stand. He was pale and shriveled up like a raisin, and his limbs were small and useless.
I was about to speak but the door jingled and swung open, revealing Peter Pettigrew. Still as cowardly and disgusting as he remained. He pointed his four fingers clutched around his wand at Ron and I.
"You, come here, now!" He pointed into the dark shadows, and emerged Griphook, my goblin that showed me to my vault at Gringotts when I was only eleven. The short goblin followed Pettigrew up the stairs before he quickly locked it again. The shouting from above was at its worse. I had never heard anything so horrible in my life. Ron clicked the Deluminator again, and light emitted from it.
"Can you not apparate?" I suggested.
"Harry, I assure you, if we could have, we would have done it by now." Luna said.
I pressed my hands into the metal bars that concealed us, but pulled away with a yell as it scorched my fingers.
"Harry, please! There is no way out!" Luna whined.
I couldn't take the screaming anymore. I curled up into a small ball and flapped my hands over my ears life earmuffs, blocking out the sound of her torture. I closed my eyes and imagined that we were together, and she was fine. I had just been wondering what Bellatrix was doing to her face.
"This is all my fault! This whole thing is my fault. HERMIONE!" I boomed and everyone in the dungeon fell silent. Ron patted me on the back roughly.
"No, don't do it, Harry! She'll only get it worse if you do that."
I knew.. But I couldn't just sit here and do nothing, it would absolutely kill me.
I could have sworn there was a crackling sound right next to me, but I wanted to ignore it. I didn't want to hear anything.. I just wanted to stab both of my ears.
"Dobby?" I heard Ron say faintly. My eyes burst open and I looked at the small elf graveling at my feet. He sent me a reassuring smile that sent hope into my heart.
"What are you doing h-" I was interrupted by another long, misery filled yell. I screwed my eyes shut until it passed. "Alright, can you apparate in and out of here?"
Dobby nodded.
"Can you take humans with you?"
"Of course, sir, I am after all, a house elf. Well guess now I'm just an elf but-"
"Never mind! Dobby, I need you to take Mr Ollivander and Luna to-" I began.
"Shell Cottage. You know where that is, right Dobby?" Ron interrupted. "Bill and Fleurs?"
Dobby nodded once more and grabbed Luna and Ollivander by the hand. Ron gave Luna a quick hug and whispered something in her ear, and she nodded sadly.
"Meet me at the top of the stairs in ten seconds." Dobby said.
Ron clicked the Deluninator so that there was no remaining light, but Pettigrew was dead before he could step in the door. Dobby stood at the top, fingers adjusted, without Luna or Ollivander.
Ron and I looked at his limp body once more before we walked up the stairs, down the long and dark passegeway, occasionally bumping our heads on the walls, and peered our heads around the black wall separating the main entrance hall from the room Hermione was in. She was on the ground, blood pooling around her, and she looked to be in an unconscious state. Bellatrix had moved onto Griphook, who had a newly fresh wound on his chin, and an older one above his eyelid.
"I guess we can just feed her to the werewolves. They'd be disappointed though, they like the cleanest blood possible." As Bellatrix kicked Hermione in the side, she limply groaned, and I lost it.
"Harry, wait!" Ron called but I had already sprinted out into the open.
