Sophie x Valin

"Hey, Sophie," a voice said.

Sophie turned to see Valin walking over. Why Valin? Why did it have to be her crush out of all people?

"Oh, uh, hey Valin," she said lamely as he walked over. "What's up?"

"You know the dance next week?" Sophie nodded. "I wondered if you might want to go with me?" The last few words came out as barely a whisper.

Valin is asking you to the dance?! This can't be right! Sophie's mind screamed at her.

"A-are you sure you want me to go with you?" She replied, awkwardly not meeting his eyes.

"What?" He said puzzled. "Do you not want to go with me?" There was so much hurt in his eyes, that he turned around, afraid to look at her.

"No, no, no!" Sophie said hurriedly. "I'm just. . . .I don't know," she admitted. "I was just nervous because I like you." She blurted out, and the second she said it, she covered her mouth as her face turned from pink, to bright, tomato red.

Valin finally turned back to face her. Shock mounted on his face. "You do?" She nodded. "I l-like you t-too."

He likes me? He really like me?

Sophie ran over to Valin, and threw herself into his arms.

He laughed and put his hands on her face, and kissed her.
