Grace's Adventure With Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Chapter 5

The next morning, Grace woke up with the sound of beeping from downstairs. So she got up, went downstairs and sees the pictures all blinking while beeping

She notices Gromit came, noticed it and they saw the refrigerator empty

"What happened last night?" Grace asked

Gromit shrugged and then the callbox beeping breakfast. Gromit pulled down the lever, they sat down as they sees Wallace coming down but get smashed by the hammer again and got to his chair

"Morning Gromit and Grace" Wallace said as the machine got him dressed "a pest free night per... chance?"

Gromit threw the newspaper to Wallace that saying Night of Vegetables Carnage

Wallace reads it and said "Lummy day"

A while later, they were at a church hearing the people complained about what happened last night

"Simmer down, simmer down now" Constable said "right, one at a time, if you please"

"We paid good money for our crop protection" one lady said to Wallace

"If you can't deliver the good, maybe you should let your traps shut" one man said and he puts a destroyed trapped on Wallace's lap

Then the townspeople continuing arguing

"That's enough, that's enough" Constable said "look, this flippin' vegetable competition cause nothing but trouble over the years, this was Arson"

"Arson?" Grace confused

"Aye someone arsin around, that's right one of you lads, a man" Constable said and the crowd grew restless

"This was no man" everyone heard a voice and it was the Vicar of the church "does a man have teeth the size of axe blades? Or ears like terrible tombstones? By tampering with nature, forcing vegetables to swell far beyond their natural size, we have brought a terrible judgement upon ourselves"

Grace was a little scared when the Vicar was saying

"And for our sins, a hideous creature has been sent to punish us all! Repent! Repent! Lest you to taste the wrath of, THE WERE-RABBIT" Vicar cried out and the crowd started panicking

"What's to become of the vegetable show?!" One man said

"We live for that competition, it's all we have, who will save us?" One lady said to the Constable

Then a loud gunshot was heard, making Grace scared that she wrapped her arms around Wallace, they turned and it was Victor and his dog Philip

"A were-rabbit? Oh come come, I do believe the Vicar's been to the communion wine again" Victor said "what we're dealing with here is no supernatural rabbit, it's a big fellow perhaps? But a moral creature of flesh and blood, a matter easily deal by a hunter"

"Guns will not be necessary, thank you Victor, hasn't there been enough destruction?" Lady Tottington said and she came down the podium "I believe the killing of fluffy creatures is never justified, I say we give Anti-Pesto a second chance"

"What? How on earth would those tiny-minded buffoons ever catch such a big rabbit?" Victor asked

"Mr. Wallace?" Lady Tottington asked

"Oh! Um... well" Wallace said as he tries to say something, he turns to Gromit and he nodded "with a big trap!"

Gromit palms his hand to his face

"By Jove, he... he's got it!" The man said and they applaud

"You see Victor, there's hope for the vegetables yet" Lady Tottington said

"Not the ones I'm looking at" Victor said when he looked at Wallace and left

Later at night, Wallace, Gromit and Grace went out patrolling the neighborhood, Wallace thought of an idea they'd lure the rabbit monster out by showing off a female rabbit, Grace was riding up front with Wallace while Gromit was in the back operating their giant female rabbit

"Ah love, you two, that's the biggest trap of all" Wallace said "the tender trap, they call it"

Wallace and Grace looked out of the window to see the rabbit in action but

"Oh come on Gromit, be a bit of more, you know, alluring" Wallace said to Gromit

Gromit started to dance which it made the rabbit dance

"Oh, very cheeky" Wallace said and Gromit pulled a secret lever which it made the rabbit wink

"Nice" Grace said

Wallace went back to the van and said when he turned to Gromit "that's more like it, lad, how can we possibly fail now"

But then they were heading to a small tunnel

"You're a total knockout" Wallace said

"WALLACE, LOOK OUT" Grace shouted but it was too late

The rabbit got stuck above the tunnel as they drove through it and it cause Gromit to get stuck on the van ceiling making Grace gasped

"Oops" Wallace said as he stopped the van and got out "stick around you two, should fix back on quite easily" and we left

Gromit fell and Grace said "Gromit, are you okay?"

Gromit got up and nodded, he came out of the back, went to the passenger seat sat, next to Grace, he started knitting, Grace turns on the radio while they wait for Wallace

But then they heard aloud noise making them jump, they looked around but no one was there, but then a giant carrot sign with a giant bite mark landed on the van, making then jump and Grace screamed. Gromit tried honking, Grace called out for Wallace but he was no show, then they saw the shadow of the were-rabbit, so he started to engine and drove off, as he was driving, they saw the were-rabbit jumping over the van and ran behind them, so Gromit turned the van and rove after it

Gromit pushed a button, to make the front trunk open seeing a hand holding to a rope, it swing it around, threw the rope to the were-rabbit, the rope got the were-rabbit but it kept hopping and hopping. Then the were-rabbit was digging underground Gromit tried to pull reverse but the were-rabbit was so strong and it made them dive into the hold

"Uh oh, this cannot be good" Grace panicked and screams when they were dragged into the hole

Then the hole was making the vegetables sucked through underground, but then someone's greenhouse was sucked through underground, it made the van crash, Grace and Gromit watches the were-rabbit had gone away

"Dang it" Grace said

Gromit hit his fist against the dashboard in frustration

"Could of been worse" Grace said and then the airbags blew up in their faces
