star: trials and tribulations

As Mingyu started with their new song March, Diana appeared out of nowhere, running over and excitedly wrapping her arms around the back of Satine's neck to watch. Satine naturally leaned in, forgetting for a millisecond about the affair she had witnessed a few days prior.

"I missed you!" Diana squealed, kissing her on the cheek.

"Oh, you did?" Satine forced a smile, not sounding the slightest bit authentic.

Diana paused, pulling her friend's chin to face her. "Of course I did, why wouldn't I?" The panic settling into her features was portrait worthy. Satine wanted it framed and hung on her wall.

"You should buy me a drink to show me how much!"

After that, Diana let out a small breath of relief. "You got it, Twinkle Star, drinks on me tonight."

Pure and pitiable guilt.

"Uh, the world is but my playground all day
New feelings that keep me breathing
Wide open city, I'll run above it.
Let's be loud, ah, with a booming sound..."

"This is going to be a good one. I think this could be the song that makes them," Diana spoke so fondly, bypassing Mingyu's gaze to settle on Wonwoo.

The number of times Satine had told herself she wasn't jealous was becoming record-breaking. She was jealous and rightfully so. Not even two nights ago she found them in bed together and there wasn't even a hint of guilt in her friend's eyes.

"I think so too," Satine rested her head against her friends.

"I'll increase the speed
Worries we push away, woah-ooh
Let's run intensely, Wonderland
The place we're running is the silky way
Let's get everything we want burning up, burning up...

Run right into the hot sun
I'll get everything I want
Let's run energetically, this is our marching song
The sun rises in the dark and I run abovе it, like a cowboy..."

Almost like an imaginary pull, Satine's head snapped around as the doorbell chimed as a man leisurely strolled into the bar. Not even bothering to wipe the soles of his crisp pair of patent Oxfords on the doormat, he stopped just inside the entrance. His chin was held high as he took off his overcoat and rested it over his arm.

Satine knew that suit, she was the one that had yelled down the phone for hours trying to get Dior to deliver it sooner. It was stunning and modern and suited him profusely.

His brown hair sat partly swept back with small pieces framing his face to complement his dark eyes. He was serving a taste so opulent and Satine couldn't have been more drawn to him.

Jeonghan checked his watch before scanning the room for her. It seemed that although the musicians playing in the corner had previously entranced the bar with their edgy vocals, Jeonghan had stolen the show and was definitely aware of the muffled conversations and quick glances being sent his way. It was normal for him to receive that kind of attention from both men and women. His charming good looks and composure proved most useful when getting his way. Not that he was interested in getting anything per se, only someone.

His presence, as expected, was noticed by none other than Miss Fontaine herself. She was standing with an irritating smirk plastered across her annoyingly perfect face and it drove Jeonghan up the wall.

God did he adore that smile.

Her magenta hair was pulled away from her face and secured by a velvet scrunchy that was almost disguised by the similarity in colour. As usual, his eyes drank in her body leant up against the bar with her hips protruded towards him, but this time he was somewhat surprised by her choice in clothing. She was styling a pleated tartan skirt and a black cropped tee along with a rather dishevelled pair of burgundy Doc Martens.
