Chapter 1

Maya's POV

I opened my locker and felt someone tap my shoulder. I turn to see my best friend, Lucas Friar.

"Hey." I said

"Hey. I went to pick you up, where were you?" He asked as I shut my locker

"I had to help my mom with some stuff so she dropped me off." I said

"But I'm still your ride right?" Lucas asked

"Yes, stupid. It was just for today." I giggled

"Good. I missed you this morning." He said

I laughed and we started walking to class. We sat down. Lucas and I always sit next to each other. We started talking to some of our friends until the bell rang.

"Good morning class. Today-"

Mr. Bush was cut off by someone walking into the classroom. She walked in at smiled at Lucas. He smiled back.

"Uh- hi. I'm Riley." She stuttered

"Class this is our new student, Riley Matthews." Mr. Bush said

Riley waved to the class and gave another smile to Lucas. I smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Riley, take a seat behind to Mr. Friar please." Mr. Bush said

Riley walked in and sat behind Lucas.

Lucas's POV

I turned around and smiled at the new girl, Riley.

"Hi, my name is Lucas." I said

"I'm Riley." she smiled

I turned back around in my seat and faced the board.

I walked out of the classroom and found Maya by her locker. I hugged her from behind and she jumped.

"You scared me!" She said

"Sorry." I laughed

"Hey Lucas!" Riley said running up to Maya and I

"Hey Riley. This is Maya, my best friend." I smiled

"Hi, it's nice to meet you." Maya said and smiled at Riley

Riley smiled back at her then quickly looked at me.

Riley's POV

Omg! Lucas is HOT! I met him in my first class and he is so cute! I met his best friend too. She seems nice, but I don't like her. Maybe I'm just jealous.

"So what class do you have next Maya?" Lucas asked

"Math." Maya sighed

"Me too! What about you Riley?" Lucas asked

"I have math too." I said checking my list

"Great! We can all go together." Lucas cheered

He's so cute!

"Your such a dork." Maya laughed

"Yea, but you love me." Lucas laughed and he put his arm around her

Ugh. They are so close and.....touchy. Why can't they just hate each other. I want him.

Maya's POV

"You hungry?" Lucas asked me as we walked out of the school

"Yes! Starving!" I said

"Ok, where do you wanna go?" He asked laughing

"Taco Bell. I need some nachos!" I cheered running to his car

I could hear him laugh as he unlocked the car door. I jumped in the passenger seat, like I always do, and waited for him to come in. He sat down and turned on the car laughing at me.

"What? What's so funny?" I asked

"Your so hungry your staring at me while I turn on the car." he chuckled

"Haha so funny, let's go!" I yelled

"Ok, ok. I'm going." he said

We walked into his house and ate our food. I usually always stay at Lucas's house unless my mom is home, which she never is. She's a lawyer and she's never home, so I'm always with Lucas.

"So how'd you like the new girl?" I asked as we were cuddling on the couch

"She was nice. What about you?" He asked

"Yeah, Riley seemed nice." I said

"Maybe you can ask her if she wants to hang out with you and your friends." Lucas suggested

"Why?" I asked eating a chip

"Because she's new and maybe she wants to make some friends." Lucas said taking one of my chips

"Hey!" I said

"I bought them." he said taking another

"Whatever. But I guess I could do that. I'll ask her tomorrow if she wants to go to the library with us." I said

"Good girl." Lucas said petting me

"Dork." I giggled

Hopefully Riley and I can become good friends.
