I flipped through the part when he asked me to sing.
"He's just joking," the old me sighed, "I didn't even do it."
"Imagine if you did."
"But I didn't. I know my boundaries."
"If he's a real man, he won't ask you to sing for him. He knows that our voice is awrah and he did it anyway. He knows that we have to keep our voice down and as a guy, he should protect us instead of telling us to expose ourselves in a way. Besides, you didn't want to do it. He should respect that. Just because you don't like to sing doesn't mean he needs to force you to like it. He loves you not."
*awrah- is a term used within Islam which denotes the certain parts of the body, for both men and women, which must be covered. It could also be referred as non-physical parts of a woman that could cause arousal or bad rumors(fitnah), for example:voice.
