Sokka - Spy ⚠️ F

Start from the beginning

Sokka looks at you in confusion. "So you aren't from here?" that question gets him an elbow to the ribs, Katara glaring at him harshly. "That was rude, Sokka."

The teen boy groans in pain, hands darting to his side. "No, no it's fine...and no, my um." You exhale. "My hometown was recently attacked by the fire nation, I was forced to move here by myself..."

The looks on the others faces soften, what was previously smiles turning into frowns as your aura changes completely. Your gaze turns down, instead looking at the table as you feigned a look of sadness.

"I'm so sorry to hear that..." Katara says. You shake your head. "Dont be, it was inevitable."

The sad silence continues for another moment or two, before being interrupted by Aang. "Well, you should come with us then!" His tone comes off much more enthusiastic then appropriate for this situation, yet everyone's expressions lift. "Oh yeah! We're on our way to kick some fire nation butt!" Sokka chimes in, his pony tail moving from side to side as he jumps up.

"Wait really?" You ask in surprise. "Of course! The more the merrier, right?" The young avatar replies, and you send a heart-warming smile their way, "I'd love that, thank you so much!"

.

.

And that was how it all began.

After collecting what little belongings you had, you embarked on your journey with the rest of the Gaang.

They were much nicer then you'd anticipated, the 4 of you got along much better than expected.

It wasn't long before you found yourself catching feelings for the eldest of the water tribe siblings, Sokka...

His eyes, his laugh....his hair when he finally would let it down from the ponytail...

Wait, you were getting ahead of yourself. No one could know about this, it would never happen.

...and it couldn't.

It's been 2 months or so since you've been traveling with them, all of you setting up camp in the forest just a couple hours ago. The sun was beginning to set, the fresh, mountain breeze gently blowing your hair around.

You sat on a rock between the trees, hugging yourself tightly. "I should've brought a blanket..." you grumble, the chilly air surrounding you numbing your skin slightly.

In one hand was piece of parchment, inky black lettering covering the pale page. It was crumpled slightly, your grip on it much too harsh. But, you couldn't use your bending to warm you up like you normally would. The others were just a few minutes walk away from you, the smell of smoke would drift in the wind until it hit their noses. You couldn't risk it.

Finally, the familiar sight of a bird appeared in your line of vision.

On its back, a message was strapped down to its brownish-redish feathers.

Landing on your outstretched arm, you clumsily undid the leather binding and pulled out the note. Zuko's familiar handwriting was sprawled all over it, slightly hard for you to read due to the darkening sky.

I'm not too far from where you were in your last letter. I need you to continue updating me on locations, and tell me everything you know about the current plan. I wanted to send combustion man to find you, but Iroh isn't letting me. So i guess I'm going to have to do it myself.

Speaking of the old man, he says hello.

Stay. On. Task.

-Zuko.
