Make a Toast

James POV
-A few hours later, celebration time-

It was finally time to go to the party, Kate has kept the whole thing a secret but she told me black and silver for colors so I have black pants and shirt with a silver tie and cufflinks. As I sat at my desk fixing my tie I looked down to see the ring box and started to feel a bit nervous but still excited.  Standing up I grabbed the box putting it in my pocket before heading downstairs to the ballroom.

I met up with Val and Ed in the foyer Ed had black slacks and a silver shirt on with no tie, Val was in a matching silver floor length dress that faded to black. "Have you guys seen Kate? I didn't know if she was gonna beat me down here or not." I asked as I walked up to them, they both shook their head. I sighed putting my hand in my pocket to hold the box.

"Nervous?" Ed asked looking me up and down to the pocket my hand was in. I blushed and smiled "yeah I am, I wasn't like this last time" I rubbed the back of my neck before taking my hand out of my pocket "can you see the box?" They shook their heads again before Val hugged me "you can feel it a bit, put box with your wallet so you can say that it's just your wallet and she won't notice it"

I nodded taking the box out putting it in my back pocket with my wallet. I sighed and nodded gesturing for them to go ahead and go in. As we walked in several omegas nodded to me and smiled.  I knew Kate had invited some of the other pack Alpha's and Luna's along with my aunt and uncle so I was glad they would see this too. My aunt wouldn't turn down helping plan another wedding I know her too well.

I reach Kate and I's table just to the right of the stairs next to us was the stage, the band was on the othwr side of the stage. My aunt and uncles table was on the othwe side od the stairs i waved at them before sitting down. I looked down at my hands realizing here in just a couple months I would probably be married.  Werewolf weddings happen fast and I figure we'll be married by mid November.  Then we can spend Christmas as a married couple. Hopefully by next Alpha's Conference we'll have a little one on the way.

Ed came up behind me and tapped my shoulder to let me know Kate was here. I stood up and looked around for Val who I figured was escorting Kate. Finally they emerged from the crowd I couldn't help but smile. I know that last month as be hard on Kate and I but to have her back as Luna was the biggest relief. I know she was still healing from the encounter but she was amazingly strong, she would make a wonderful mother. She looked beautiful in her dress it was perfect for her body and showed off her curves.

I don't know what Val and her were talking about but she was blushing and giggling before turning to me and smiling. Her smile could light up a moonless night and her eyes shinned like the stars. To make her my wife was a dress come true I just needed to hear her say yes. I held my hand out to her and leas her up the stairs to the first landing. Two omegas came and handed us champagne I clicked against the glass to draw everyone's attention.

"Welcome everyone and thank you so much for attending our celebratory ball in honor of Luna Kate's return!" The crowd cheers and claps for Kate, then start drinking thwir champagne. I look over at her and smile before continuing "Now, now. I know everyone wants to get down to the dancing and start partying. So, Kate, can I have this dance?" I hold out my hand to her leading her to the center of the dance floor.

As we approach the center I love over to the band and nod giving them the signal to play the song "Marry Me" by Jason Derulo. As we start to dance I hold her close to me waiting for the final part. I dip her and spin her away from me letting go of her hand I get down on one knee. The words "Would you marry me, baby?" are sung as she turns around to see me on one knee. The band stops the song there just before the last verse.

Kate gasps and covers her mouth with her hands as she nods and walks towards me. Teary eyed she finally speaks "Yes, oh yes James I will marry you!" She falls to her knees hugging me tightly I smile and wrap my arms around her. Everyone is cheering and clapping, from the side of the room I can hear my aunt's voice yelling "Yes! Go James! I'm so proud of you"

Kate just giggles as she backs away, she hold out her left hand for me to put the ring on her finger. Her Luna ring on her right hand, her mate necklace and her engagement ring now completed the circle. I couldn't help but give her a kiss she wraps her arms around me before pulling away and whispering "James I'm so happy right now. Thank you so much for saving me" I smiled and hugged her tightly.

We made our way back to our table, my aunt came running over to us with my uncle in tow. "Oh James, Kate I'm so excited for you!" She says as she hugs us both, my uncle walks over and pats me on the shoulder. My aunt pulls Kate to the side and I can already hear them starting to talk about wedding plans and ideas.

My uncle smiles and pats me on the shoulder "Congratulations James, Kate is an amazing Luna and mate. I'm so happy for you guys. And I can see your aunt is exhilarated" he chuckles looking over at his wife and Kate before turning back to me. "Have you guys talked about pups yet?" He asked kinda out of the blue.

I turned to him a bit confused but nodded "yeah we did she wants to have 3 or 4. Why do you ask?" He sighed putting his hands in his pockets "I was worried that the line of succession was in trouble if you didn't have pups" he seemed to be holding something back.

I looked at him sternly and concerned "what do you know uncle? Is something wrong?" He shook his head looking over at Kate "it isn't my place to tell you. Just be gentle with her okay?" He nodded before walking away to get my aunt. I was left confused and worried what could possibly be wrong with Kate.
