𝐉𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐄 𝐁𝐘𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 or so she thought. Jackie's transformation is evident not just in her physical appearance but in the struggles she grapples with. As she nears fifteen, her anxiety intensifies, particularly when faced with the fear of losing Mike. Behind the facade of a happy act lies a vulnerable teenager, navigating the complexities of growing up and managing her emotions.

Her friendship with Elliana Cruz becomes a shared escape, a way to cope with the challenges. Stealing weed from Jonathan serves as a temporary reprieve, a momentary relief from the weight of anxiety that looms over her.

The excitement for the upcoming Spring Break trip to Hawkins provides a glimmer of hope amidst the turmoil. Despite the physical distance, Jackie remains emotionally connected to Mike, counting the days and expressing her feelings through letters.

March 17th 1986

Dear Mike,

It's Day 185. I miss you. My anxiety's still not the best, but i'm sorta handling it... Elliana's very happy that she's coming to Hawkins. I have a feeling this Spring Break will be the best one yet. I'm still trying to convince Aunt Joyce to let me move in with you after the school year ends. I know your mom say I could, but I wish I knew why Aunt Joyce won't let me. I'm trying the best I can. Anyways, School's good here for me. I'm still a B student and my Alegbra grade is uh.. a F. Don't tell Joyce, I've been using my powers to change them. Hope everything is well in Hawkins!

Yours Truly,
Jackie

Jackie strolled into school alongside Eleven and Will. Glancing at Elliana's locker, she noticed the familiar scene of Elliana being hit on once more. Chuckling, the brunette quipped, "I'll catch up with you guys in History!" She waved to her cousin and Eleven before dashing over to Elliana.

"Dude, Ellie! C'monnnn! Just one date, please?" Marcus Maloy pleaded, desperation evident in his voice as Jackie smoothly appeared by Elliana's side. With a protective gesture, Jackie asserted, "Fuck off, Maloy. Elliana is actually seeing someone," wrapping her arm around Elliana for emphasis.

"I am?" Elliana mumbled, surprised by Jackie's claim. Meanwhile, Marcus stared in disbelief, completely caught off guard by the unexpected revelation.

"Who?"

"My good ol' pal, from Hawkins, Lucas Sinclair. He plays basketball. In fact, he's not a basketball jerk like you! He doesn't treat girls like garbage. So, how 'bout you run along?" Jackie smirked as Marcus rolled his eyes, walking away.

Elliana let out a deep exhale, positioning herself in front of Jackie. "You saved me! Ugh! I love you." Leaning against her locker, Elliana expressed gratitude as Jackie chuckled. "Love you too, and save the thanks for later," Jackie said, pausing. She swung her backpack to the side, discreetly revealing a hidden surprise—some weed, visible only to Elliana.
