Royal Pride (Leona Kingscholar/Yuu)

0 ~ Prologue

"DIASOMNIA!"

The name echoed throughout the room, followed by applause from those attending the ceremony. Yuu gave the Dark Mirror a courteous nod and headed towards the indicated section. She already knew she would be placed in Diasomnia, indicated by her lineage.

She gave a bow to Lilia, though confused as to why Prince Malleus wasn't there. He was Housewarden, after all. Lilia gave a cheery smile and two thumbs up, a comforting gesture that helped Yuu relax, if only slightly. It was nice to see a familiar face, albeit a slightly intimidating one.

She took her seat next to Silver, a student who had been placed just moments before her. It was a bit comforting seeing him there as they had spent some time together during her visits to Briar Valley. Briar Valley was nearly void of children, so Silver and Sebek (who would be joining them next year) would be overjoyed when Yuu came on vacation.

They both sat quietly through the rest of the sorting, knowing that it wasn't the time nor place to reacquaint with each other—though a good lot of the other students were chattering throughout the ceremony, even as the Headmage was giving his welcome speech.

One character that specifically caught her eye was the Housewarden of Savanaclaw. His name was Leona Kingscholar, if her memory served her correctly. He was slouched in his seat, head nodding onto his chest—a very non-discreet napping position. As much as Yuu didn't enjoy making assumptions about people as they did to her, she couldn't help but think 'how unbecoming of a prince'.

After what seemed like an eternity, the ceremony came to a close. Lilia hopped onto his feet abruptly and gestured with his arms for the rest of the dorm to follow suit. "Welcome to Diasomnia!" He called. "Follow me and I'll show you to the dormitory!"
