Max's pov

Lucas knocked on the door so I quickly I grabbed a red sweater out of closet and some
baggy jeans but not to baggy.

I threw my hair into a messy   bun
and grabbed my keys .I was home
alone again with my Mom at work
and god knows where Billy's at.

I walked out the house locking
the door behind me. I walk toward
Lucas and see him staring at me.
"You ready" I say as i climbed
on the bike.

"100% Madmax" Lucas says.
"Madmax?" I say as my face
turned red."new nickname"
Lucas says winking. I giggle
softly.

I look at all the trees and the
matching leaves.I love nature
so much. most people think I'm
not into stuff like that but I am.

Me and Lucas made it to starcourt.
We got off the bike and walked side
By side.

Something in me told me to grab
his hand so I did. And just like
that we held hands. I saw Lucas
look down at our hands intertwined
and he smiled .

" You know we should go to scoops
ahoy" I suggest. "Ofc max" he says
smiling. We walk to the scoops ahoy
And I see the one and only, Steve
Harrington  at the counter flirting.

"Ah yes typical Steve" I joke. Lucas let
out a laugh and we walk to the counter.
"Hey Lucas and Max " Steve says looking at
At us.

"What can I get for you love birds
today" Steve says winking  at  Lucas.
"I'll get a vanilla icecream please"
I say politely. "Lucas this one's a keeper"
Steve whispers. I pretended I  didn't
hear as Lucas smiled.

"Can i get a chocolate icecream please" Lucas
says."you know what, this one's on the house"
Steve says in a matter of face tone.

Me and Lucas ate our icecream and
headed to the arcade. Man I wish  Robin
was working today,she was off today .

Me and Lucas made it to dig dug and
I started playing. "I have to go to the
bathroom I'll be right back" I say to Lucas

"Okay" he says.After I finished in the bathroom.I walked out and see Troy , "God what do you want" I say rolling my eyes.

"Uh I kinda like you" Troy  says holding back from making a Grossed out face.
"Yeah yeah very funny and I have a boyfriend
anyway stalker " i say waking closer to the the arcade.

"Not anymore" Troy  smirks. I look Inside The arcade and see Sydney and Lucas kissing at the dig dug machine. My heart dropped I
saw Lucas looking at me.

I pushed passed a satisfied Jeremiah
and walked towards the scoops ahoy.
I heard a faint voice screaming "MAX
WAIT" "SHIT WAIT UP".

I kept walking as tears filled my
eyes. I made it inside The scoops
ahoy and hopped over the counter
I walked to the back and see
Steve eating on his break.

"Hey max what are you-Holy shit
what happened" Steve sees me crying
and stands up. My  tears are flowing down
my face as Steve stands up.

He gives me a tight hug and I just
sobbed. "hey hey hey,max it's okay"
Steve said hugging me. "What happened"
he said once I calmed down.

"Lucas.. he uh- kissed his ex And
I witnessed it"I say slowly."GODDAMIT Sinclair "Steve says. "Im calling robin" Steve says and heads towards the phone.

Steve is like the older brother I never had. Billy has always been Terrible to me.  so Steve pretty
Much takes his place.  I hear Steve on the phone. "Robin meet at my house it's max" Steve says
on the line. "Okay see you soon robin"
Steve says and hangs up.

"Let's go kiddo I'm not gonna make
you stay because he's probably still here"
Steve says like a mother.  Steve locks up the
parlor and We walk in the mall making our
way to the parking lot.

I see Lucas getting on his bike and biking
off. Steve gives me a look and pats my back.
I get into Steve car and buckle up. I place on my headphones and play Kate bush "running
up that hill".

I see Steve looking at me every once
in a while. But I keep my eyes focused
On the nature. My eyes start watering
again and I wipe my tears on my sleeve.

When  we made it to Steve's house
Robin was already there. I walk to the
front door waiting for  Steve to unlock
it.

We all sit in the living room and that's
when I finally take off my earphones.
"So what happen max" robin says.

"Well me and Lucas were at Starcourt
and everything was going fine and we ate ice cream at scoops ahoy and then we headed to the arcade. I said  I had to use the bathroom."
I started to choke up.My eyes were filling with tears as Steve looked at me saddened.

"I walked out the bathroom and my bully walked up to me and asked me out as a joke and I said I have a boyfriend You know because
that was the right thing to do.

And  he said not anymore and  just as I   had
made it to the arcade And Lucas was there kissing his ex" I slowly started crying
with my knees to my chests and my head in
my lap.

I feel to hugs on both of my sides but
I don't move because I knew it was Robin
And Steve. "Max I'm so sorry. He looked
perfect for you." Robin said hugging me
tight

The doorbell starts ringing and it's Billy 
"MAX IF YOU DONT GET HOME RIGHT
NOW YOUR SO DEAD YOU LITTLE SHIT
I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT" Billy yells.

How does he know I'm here..I stare  at Robin and Steve as their eyes are wide.  I sigh and get
Up ready to leave."Max your not going home" Steve says.

"I much rather you be safe here then there with Billy  I have a guest-room upstairs that you can use" Steve says. "No Steve I can't accept that"I say."I insist" Steve says. I nod,

"well okay but I don't have any clothes.Robin replied " I happen to have extra clothes in my
car" Robin starts.

"They may be a little big but they should do"
Robin says smiling."thanks a lot you guys"
I say and hug them. Me and Robin walk out
to her car and I grab a sweater  and some sweatpants.

I walk up into the guest room and shower and
Put on the clothes. When I'm finally in bed
I lay on my back and stare at the ceiling.
today has been eventful but atleast I have
Steve and Robin. And slowly drift to sleep

Lucas's pov

Max went to the bathroom so I waited by dig dug. Sydney thencame up to me. "God what the hell do you want" I say annoyed."Idk Lukey what do I want" Sydney says. "Uh i don't know" I say back.
All of a sudden Sydney kisses me.

I look up and see max with wide
eyes and see her walk past  Troy
and see Max walk out the arcade.

I push Sydney off of me, "WHAT
THE HELL" I Yell at Sydney. She
Starts to cry and I push past her.

I run to the hall just to see max
turn the Corner, "MAX WAIT"
"SHIT WAIT UP" I yell. Max
was already gone.

My eyes start to water as I realize I
messed up. I call Steve but he
doesn't answer. I walk to the exit
and get on my bike and head home.

Max Probably hates me now.
