author's note— this story, its characters, and my writing have much evolved since it's first version. for instance, i learned how to properly write dialogue tags and that first person perspective is actually considered (how to put this delicately?) 'juvenile', it turns out. but nevertheless, the original version was the first story i ever published on wattpad and it is dear to my heart. i cannot seem to bring myself to delete it, no matter how much it makes me cringe. although my protagonist is no longer as spunky or aggressive as her previous design, i still hope you enjoy this revised story she plays in. that will be all. ─yours truly, solucien.
