I woke up next to Rooster with my head nestled between his two arms.
"Honey I have to get up" I smiled,
He groaned squeezing me even tighter. As I was about to tell him to let go my phone ringed. I picked it up and placed it next to my ear,
"Hello?" I immediately opened my eyes wide, It was the hospital.
"Baby! I've got to go my dad's in hospital."
"Of course, alright I'm going to get dressed, I'll drive you there" Rooster got up quickly, he knew the severity of the situation. Once I was changed I ran outside of the house to see Rooster standing by the car waiting, I climbed in not wasting another second. Halfway through the car ride my brain started wondering, my mind darted to the time when me and my father drove at a high speed to get to the hospital for my mother. Tears began to form and my breathing increased, Rooster pulled over and held me in his arms
"It's alright my love" he cradled me kissing my head "I'm here."

We both walked into the hospital. The walls were painted white and the room smelt of fresh cleaning products.
"Hello Ma'am" the receptionist greeted me
"Hi do you know where Pete Mitchell is?"
"Yes! Room 10 on the second floor, good luck Ma'am."
I was about to push the door open when Rooster touched my arm,
"Baby I think it's better I stay here but if you need me just shout" he said, I kissed him and barged the door open.

Thats When I saw it, my dad lying in a hospital bed with tubes attached to his arms, possibly the worst state I've seen him in. I walked over and placed myself on the blue hospital chair,
"Dad, how are you feeling?" I asked holding his hand
"What do you think? Shit obviously!" He laughed, I was just happy he still had his humour, "sweetie if I don't make it out of this hospital, I need to tell you everything you need to know" he smiled weakly
"Dad.. don't say that you will make it out and I will drive you home" tears started to build up in my eyes and my vision blurred,
"Tell Rooster I will look after Goose, I will stay with your mother and if there is ever any grandchildren I will watch over them"
"Dad.."
"Every sunset you see will be beautiful, I will paint the sky in the deepest blue and the palest red, I will always be here for you even if I'm not exactly with you." He squeezed my hand
"Dad! I don't need to tell Rooster you will look after Goose because you are staying on this earth and your grandchildren will meet you!" I started crying, I couldn't help it. After the visit I ran out of the room and jumped into Rooster's arms,
"I'm sorry darling."
