Lisa's POV

"How is your new school Lisa?" My dad asked the moment I entered his office

"It's okay. Nothing I can't handle" I answered confidently that earned a smirk from him

"Well, if things are going well for you, I have some task to give you"

I furrowed my eyebrows. I don't like where this is going

"I want you to volunteer in the outreach program that your school will conduct this weekend" he continued

I huffed not believing this. It's so not my thing and he knows that

"May I know the reason for this?"

"One of the volunteering students is the daughter of our client"

"Why don't you just send our people to protect her?"

"In what I heard, she doesn't like to be guarded. We'll still send people but they can only watch from a distance"

"Isn't that enough?"

"Her father told me that there's someone threatening their family now. Her daughter needs close watch"

I took a deep breath considering the situation. Despite being stubborn, I'm not heartless

"What's her name?"

"It's Jennie Kim"

Jennie's POV

I woke up early because we need to do the outreach program today. I did my morning routine and went to the dining room to eat breakfast where my parents are already eating

"Goodmorning Jen. Sit down and eat breakfast" my father said smiling at me

Lately, I've been noticing my father all stressed. Maybe the work at the hospital is taking a toll on him but I know that my mother is always by his side

My mom and dad both work on the medical field which greatly influenced why I took medicine as my course

"The outreach program that you've volunteered to join is today right?" My mother asked me

"Yes mom. I really want to help"

"Are you all packed up? It's an overnight stay, right?" My father joined the conversation

"Yes dad. I've already prepared everything last night"

Our outreach program is an overnight stay because it will be conducted on the outskirts of the city where they don't even have clinics or health care

Us, going there to check on them will be a really good help to the people living there, and besides, it can benefit me in practicing my chosen career

I grabbed my bag and kissed goodbye to my mom and dad and headed to our car, where our driver is waiting

I can very well tell our driver to just drop me at the location but I chose not to because I want to interact with other volunteers and I have to see for myself the equipment that we'll use

When we arrived at our school, I saw the van waiting for student volunteers. They are preparing to load the van with equipment and food

I got out of the car and bid farewell to the driver telling him to pick me up here tomorrow

"Goodmorning Jen!" Irene said as I approached them

"Goodmorning Irene! Do you need any more help?"

"Uh yes, actually we can use a helping hand but first put your things in the van" Irene said and I just followed her
