5 Years Later

Nat sat reading emails after an eventual hologram call with the remaining team who decided to venture out into the world and universe.

She sat back in her chair, frustrated, tired. She closed her eyes fighting back the tears.

"Hey Nat."

A familiar voice she had not heard for some time distracted her. She tried to hide her smile but it was good to hear their voice.

She opened her eyes and looked at him, "What are you doing here Steve?"

"To see my friends.", he replied.

She laughed slightly, "Well, I'm the only one here."

Steve looked down and fumbled with his keys. "Where is she?"

"Wow, you're curious for someone who was trying to avoid her.", Nat replied slightly annoyed.

"I was never avoiding Y/N, I was just always busy.", he replied.

"For five years?"

Steve stayed silent.

"She needed you, you know.", she added. "But you pushed her away."

"You can't still be mad at me." Steve pushed himself off the shelving unit he was leaning against. "It has been five years"

"She's my best friend, I can be as mad as I want to be", Nat replied.

Steve sat in the chair opposite to Nat, across the desk.

It was silent for a moment.

"I'm sorry." Steve spoke up.

Nat stared at him.

"I shouldn't have let you two down.", he added.

"She felt so guilty leaving you." Nat replied.

"I know." Steve closed his eyes. "Please Nat.."

She smiled, she missed her old friend. "It's okay Steve"

He opened his eyes and looked at her, "Thankyou."

"You'll have to apologise to Y/N, you know", Nat added.

"I know. I will.", He replied. "So, where is she?"

Nat had a tear run down her face, things were starting to lookup. "She's at Tony's"

Steve smiled.

An alarm echoed around them.

Nat began to look at the front gate camera.

"Oh hi, hi. Is anyone home?", a voice echoed.

Steve looked at the footage.

"This is uh Scott Lang.", The man added. "We met a few years ago. At the airport."

Nat and Steve jumped up.

"In Germany", Scott added.

"Is this an old message?" Steve asked shocked.

Nat smiled, "It's the front gate."

-

You wander around the front of the house. "Morgan?" You call out.

"Where are you little monkey?", you walk closer to her tiny tent.

"You know, I was thinking about selling some toys today.", you kneel down on the ground and pick up one of Morgans toys. "This could be worth something."

"Rawr!", Morgan leaps out of the tent, attempting to scare you. She was wearing one for the helmets Tony had made. "Do not sell my toys."

"Woah, where did you get that little miss?"
