The Events of the Convention

Before you start, read this

Hey. Just a quick note, here. 

I bet you were expecting something new and original. Um... sorry. That's not what this is. 

Well. 

It's complicated, I guess. 

I started writing the original The Events of the Convention around two years ago. And people really seem to like it. I mean, come on. Almost 37,000 reads? I never once expected that.  

I am going to say that I don't like the TEOTC that I published. It's a good story. But I think of it more as a draft. The chapters are way too short, the dialogue is in a weird italic style (I can't remember why I thought that was a good idea, something about thinking quotation marks looked weird), and the story itself is full of holes and, let's be frank, it's a practical carbon-copy of every other FNIA story out there. 

Which is why I'm taking the time to redo it. 

Now, before you leave, it's not just a rewrite. Yes, I'm redoing the first two stories on my profile. As soon as this goes up, those will be marked as "OLD" and will no longer be canon to my little universe. But I'm also adding the story I should have written, giving the chapters more substance, and actually writing the dialogue properly this time. But, because I don't feel like that would be enough to justify rewriting this story, the "Volume Three" that I talked about off and on will be the last five chapters of this book. It'll wrap up this story with a bow and I'll be done writing about FNAF. 

Well. Probably. At least until they release something worth writing about. I'm not the biggest fan of everything since Ultimate Custom night. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind when the Security Breach DLC comes around. But I wouldn't hold your breath. After this story is over, I intend to give these characters a well-deserved rest. 

Now, onto how this story's going to be updated. Let me say now that I'll try my best to get things out in a timely fashion. Writing's tough, you all probably know that or have heard that before. Some days I'll sit down at my desk and just won't get anything down. So, right now, I ask for your patience. If you truly want to hear the story I have to tell. 

At the time of writing this, I am finished with eight out of twenty-six chapters. The first part is eight chapters long, the second part is seven chapters long, the third part is six chapters long, and the fourth part is five chapters long. I'll be releasing these parts as I finish them. Do keep in mind that I might shift things around a bit in the writing process, and that nothing is final until the book is fully completed. 

I will say that the first part is complete, so you should expect new parts in no longer than a month and a half. I also feel that it's important to mention that I'm going to be moving cross-country in a few weeks, so that'll put a damper on production. I'll try my best to get things out quickly.

Okay, here's edit number one. Hi. 

I'll be adding a little something to this chapter every time I release a new part, so be sure to check it every time. 

Part Two, A jagged-toothed mask, is now finished. I'm happy with it. The story as a whole, as of right now, has a word count of around forty-two thousand and is by far the biggest thing I've ever written. 

I do really think these two parts, when compared to the original story, really show how much I've grown as a writer in the two years I've been, well, actually striving to write. I used to be... well, not great. And now? I can genuinely say that I'm proud of what I've written. 

Just want to put it out there now that after this is done I'm going to try and move towards some of my own original ideas for stories. I'll still probably dabble in fanfiction if there's something that piques my interest enough, but right now I've got a few good ideas that I feel can be more than just scribbling in my notebook. Ideas that are my own. 

That little rant aside, Part Three shouldn't take me... as long? I like most of the original Events Volume Two, there's just a few story bits that I want to change. If you've read both of the new parts, you'll probably realize what I'm changing. 

Yeah. It's gonna be good.

Edit number two! Woo! I am... not done with Part Three yet. It's about halfway there. I did, however, read through the first two parts recently and notice a whole bunch of spelling errors and other things that needed cleaning up, so I cleaned them. That's what all these new publishes were, sorry for the confusion. 

Anyway, I've been working on Part Three a lot, and so far I really like it! I hope you will too when it comes out.

Hey there. It's edit number three. 

Coincidentally, I am also done with the third part of The Events of the Convention. I'm proud of it. And I'm particularly exited to get into the fourth section of this book. It's... it's been a long time that I've messed with these characters, and while they don't get it quite yet... I want to give them the happy ending they deserve. 

For now, thank you for your continued support. We're almost at 1000 reads - which I'm sure we'll hit after I post these next couple chapters - and this story has been in the top 5 of the #fivenightsinanime tag a few times. Maybe with this update we can get #1...? Hopefully? 

Also, just an addendum - I'm deleting the 'contents' page. There's really no reason for it to exist.

And an addendum to the addendum - if you can figure out the code in the last chapter, I'll be impressed.
