'A true love story never ends.' - Author Unknown

New York.

Rhayven woke up crying tears of day-old frustration. Her hair was black and curled automatically around one's finger. Her eyes were like the precious birthstone, sapphire, and changed with her mood. She was beautiful and perfect in each way. Then she started to cry because she required her mother's milk. The whole balance of nature was upset as the sand in the desert started to be saturated with water reducing it to a mud hole. The waters of the earth started to dissipate, the earth started to trap the sunrays causing the ice caps of the mountains in Antarctica to melt...Caven rushed towards her at once. She shoved her gigantic breast which had become swollen and overflowing with milk into the mouth of her newborn.

Raven sucked happily and the whole world returned to normal.

"She's is so powerful."

Caven said softly.

"Yes, I know, we need to get her to Sanctity when she is six months to effectively control her"

Ray said solemnly as Caven nodded in agreement. Rhayven was born on a solar eclipse, which meant her powers were more powerful at night in her wolf form. Their house was away from civilization and in a beautiful remote area in the country with flowers and gardens with a path leading to the house, which was a cottage. There were orchids, roses, and lilies with high scents that hit you as soon as you enter the house. In the middle of the field grew a black rose. When Caven tried to touch it, a powerful force field repelled her. It was given to her on Nissan first which was a date between March and April and symbolizes the beginning of the new moon. Rhayven had to be hidden from the people who would try to use her powers for evil. Suddenly, the area around became quiet.

Too quiet...

"Caven it's time"

Ray said solemnly. Ray tried to find his sword as Caven kissed Rhayven and held her tightly. The front door burst open. A tall, muscular, and intimidating man stood in the frame way of the cottage.

"Give me the child"

Kalesh commanded. His voice was rough as was his appearance and demanded respect from everyone present... It should, after all, be Ray's former advisor. He had secretly been planning to dethrone King Ray and kill his daughter so that his son Armando could become king after him. The fact that Ray had a daughter, who would when he dies, take over the vampire nation, was unacceptable. And Ray not signing over the privilege to the most eligible male as ruler (who ironically was his son) demanded his immediate death, even if he was his brother...

"Caven hide her"

Ray said suddenly, as he tried to distract Kalesh. He rushed forward, caught a handful of Caven's dark brown hair in his hand, and slammed her head against the wall. Blood rushed from her head. The scent made both brothers intoxicated with the dangerous pleasure of tasting it. Ray's olfactory glands were more developed than that of Kalesh so he was the first to respond. Anger rushed throughout his veins as his blood became heated. His fangs elongated. Using his superior strength, his hand engulfed Kalesh's throat as he tried to choke him. One of Kalesh's men pointed a semi-automatic pistol, which was loaded with silver-mercury bullets, in an attempt to kill him. With one shot with this bullet, the victim would die a slow, painful death. Caven created a distraction by trying to escape. Ray took this opportunity to grab Rhayven and dematerialize into another dimension, the 21st century. Ray knew his power was insufficient to keep him in that century for long.

He needed an alternative...

Rhayven was wrapped securely in a blue blanket hand knitted by her mother. Her black hair flushed over her face she was like her mother and contracted him in every way with his blue eyes and skin like creamy milk. While he, on the other hand, had a muscular frame, broad shoulders, narrow hips, and the stance of a warrior. He couldn't stay with Rhayven; his wife needed him the next century. But first, he needed to know that Rhayven would be relatively safe from harm.

He grasped Rhayven as he crept up to a window and peered inside...

It was a nice family; a happy married one, with no children since the wife was barren. He didn't want to do it but he had to leave Rhayven here.

For her safety...

Kalesh would hunt for her but at least he would not search this dimension. A basket appeared in front of him as he thought of it. He dipped his hand into his pocket and put a locket around her neck. Then he bent down and kissed her tenderly.

"I love you Rhayven"

Time was running out... and he knew it. He put Rhayven in the basket and rang the doorbell then vaporized out of that dimension.

"Coming"

A voice from inside said and opened the green door of his house.

"Hello"

The sound of a baby crying caught his attention and he looked down in the direction of the noise.

"Sheree', come quickly!"

He said in alarm.

"What is it, Demetri?"

She asked as she came towards him. He took up the blanket with Rhayven.

"O, my god!"

She said as soon as she saw the child. Demetri and Sheree (the name of the couple at whose doorstep Ray left Rhayven) held the basket with the child outside for a while trying to find the person who left the child there but to all avail. Seeing no one, and realizing it was getting colder, they carried her inside. They phoned the police about the child, and they were asked to report the incident in the morning. Sheree went to prepare some milk to feed the child, while Demetri got some wood for the fireplace and he put them in the fireplace, and turned around to get a lighter to blaze the fire. But a bright light was being emitted from behind him. He turned around

"That was fast, I didn't even see you light it"

Sheree said lightly.

"I didn't light it"

Demetri said amazed

"Don't be silly who else would do it?"

He paused then shrugged it off as a figment of his imagination. Being 30 must have taken its toll on him. He went over to the sofa that Sheree was sitting on.

"She's beautiful"

He said running his fingers through her dark midnight hair.

"And her skin is like milk"

He said like a sedated kitten under the influence of milk.

"What do you think we should call her?"

Sheree asked. Demetri thought for a moment. He looked at her blanket. The letters R-H-A-Y-V-E-N were engraved in gold letters on her blankets.

"Why not Rhayven after all that seems to have been her mother's choice"

He said quietly.

"If she doesn't get claimed can we adopt her and name her Rhayven Anastasia Jordian Silvers?"

She asked.

"That would be nice"

Demetri agreed. After Rhayven has finished drinking her milk, her eyes became heavy with sleep.

"Can I hold her?"

Demetri asked Sheree quietly.

"Okay"

Sheree said as Demetri took her and hushed her back to sleep.

"I know miracles happen at Christmas and so far you are proof of that. I don't know why your parents could keep you but I will fight for you because I have fallen in love with you Rhayven"

He said

"Are you coming with me to the police station?"

Sheree asked as she coated Rhayven and put her blanket around her.

"We have to report this"

Sheree said as she hugged Rhayven and rocked her to sleep

"Tomorrow"

Demetri said as they got up and ambled up the stairs. Demetri took Rhayven and supported Sheree with the other hand.
