"Dammit, any way out?!"
He couldn't stop himself from grinning, even though he knew she was still in danger. He felt instant happiness from hearing her voice. Plus he was amused by the way she shouted her words. She was irritated, not even the least bit scared. She wasn't freaked out either. She was probably having second thoughts about killing these vampires.
Well... their screams really can be heard even if you're miles away.
It was then that he decided to help. He used his speed to get to the vampires quickly, and remembering his stealth lessons, he proceeded to chop their heads off quietly. The only sounds that could be heard was Natalie's gasp, the sound of the Rogues heads falling on the grassy earth, mouths open as they attempted to scream, and the other Hunters' blades clanging in the background.
Stupid Rogues, how dare they try to hurt Natalie?! He would have growled loudly, if he could, but since he had the vocal cords of humans, and not of vampires and werewolves, he only managed one that was a little quiet, but surprisingly, resounded throughout the empty, grassy space. It was silent after all. He glared at the beheaded bodies of the Rogues, thinking how much he wanted to to torture them for doing something to the Vampire Princess. When his eyes met hers, however, they softened. Natalie's too, but she glared at him again when she realized that he did not follow her order.
"I told you not to enter! Why didn't you listen!?" She yelled at him. She knew she had to thank him, but at the moment, she was a bit panicky. What if something happened to him? I don't want to lose my friend!
Leonel was taken aback, only a little bit though, since he already expected this. To be honest, he actually expected her to do something more. Like, throw him to the river or somethin'. He wanted to hug her already, but he knew she would definitely stab him with the bloody dagger she was holding if he did. So he opted for the playful exterior, even if all he wanted to do was pull her closer to him. He crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. "Well... as far as I know, I'm not a part of your clan, and I am therefore not entitled to follow your orders, Princess Natalie."
She scowled. "Do you think this is a joke? You could have gotten your-freaking-self killed!" She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, eyes glazed. She was probably holding back her tears, and upon realizing this, Leonel placed a hand on her shoulder, aiming to calm her down. It did work, but Leonel had to bite his tongue to prevent himself from saying something cheesy that might or might not reveal his secret. His secret, in other words, feelings for her.
He smiled at her when she looked up at him. "Relax. I'm okay, I even killed those Rogues for you. I'm fine, I can protect myself. No need to worry."
She nodded slowly, but then she remembered that what they had around the mansion was a Lightning barrier with more than two layers. "Wait, wait, wait," she pulled away, and pointed an accusing finger at Leonel's chest, her red eyes narrowed. "How the hell were you able to enter?!"
Leonel gulped. He didn't know if she would like what he'd say, or not. But he wouldn't be able to escape this anyway. He looked away from her, afraid of her reaction. She does tend to overreact sometimes... "I might have called the Sagittarius for help...."
They stayed silent for a while. While Leonel was anxiously twirling his dagger in his hand, a habit he got from his dad, Natalie was debating with Kath if she should be angry, because honestly, he was more thankful than mad. Leonel called for help, which she absolutely needed, and even saved her from that sticky situation earlier.
Seconds later, she sighed, deciding it would be best if she just didn't make a big deal out of it. She smiled at Leonel. "It's okay. Thank you, though. It's a big help."
Leonel was shocked, but recovered from it after a little while. He just smiled at her and held her hand, pulling her towards the direction of the mansion. "Don't mention It. Let's just go. We still have a mission to accomplish, after all, Princess."
Natalie bit her lip, and slowly nodded, letting him drag her to where the fight was currently breaking out. All the while ignoring the tingles and shock waves climbing their way up from her hands to her neck.
What the hell is wrong with me?
While Leonel couldn't help but think that the way the girl beside him bit her lip was hot. He immediately dismissed the thought and tried his best to focus on his current and first mission, and not on the Vampire Princess whose hand he was currently holding, and who was currently making his face turn a lighter shade of pink.
Ugh, Leonel Cipher, when did you turn into a hormonal teenage pervert?

A/N: Oooohhh... so even a nice guy like Leonel has hormones? Kidding, haha! :D
