After the Coven Day Parade, Eda, King, and Hooty head back to the Owl House, leaving only Luz and Amity on the rooftop as neither of the two wants to go home yet. Luz continues telling Amity what happened during her visit to the Human Realm, having to pause her story earlier in order to watch the parade.
Luz: ...But then I slipped up and told mom I chose to stay here. And well... she didn't take it very well... I mean, who would honestly? A shape-shifting basilisk's been living as me for months while I'm here living in the Boiling Isles
Luz: I mean, before the portal door broke, I could've come back anytime I want. But instead, I chose to stay here
Luz: Only when I broke the portal did I even start to think about going back home. It's kinda ironic, isn't it? Heh...
Amity: '...I know she said "Okay", but maybe I shouldn't have asked. She's clearly hurting a lot right now, all just so she can tell me what happened...'
Luz: ...A-Anyways, I told her that it's not her fault and I tried to calm her down. B-But then, the portal was closing and I was starting to get pulled back up. A-And... And then...
Amity: *puts my hand on her shoulder* Luz... You don't have to continue. Not when it's hurting you like this...
Luz: I'm fine, Amity, really. Besides, we're almost at the end of the story. Can't leave you on a cliffhanger now, can we?
Amity: '...Should I really let her continue? Would insisting her to stop just make things harder for her...?' ...Luz, are you sure?
Luz: I'm sure
Amity: ...Alright
Luz: *deep inhale* ...You see, what happened that night was... at that moment... I... my mom... she made me promise something to her
Amity: 'A promise? Does that mean she'll be staying with her mom in the Human Realm when she gets back? If that's the case, then it's not too bad. As long as we'd have a working portal, we can all still see each other'
Amity: 'Then again... Luz seems to be having a really hard time telling me, so it could be something else... a more difficult promise to keep. ...It's not that kind of promise, is it...? I hope not...'
Luz: I promised that I'll stay forever with her back home, but also...
Amity: 'Okay, prepare yourself, Amity. Whatever she says next, stay calm and don't say anything you might regret later'
Luz: I...I-I made a promise to never go back here ever again!
Amity: 'Oh thank Titan, it's not what I thought it is... But still...' Can we still visit you though?
Luz: Huh?
Amity: She didn't say anything about us not visiting you in the Human Realm, did she?
Luz: "Us"?
Amity: Me, Willow, Gus, Eda, King, and our palismen. I would say Ed, Em, Lilith and Hooty too, but well... Ed and Em would have to cover for me while I'm away. Lilith's probably still back home with Mrs. Clawthorne and Hooty, well... he's the Owl House itself, so I'm not sure if he can even come
Luz: Actually, he can leave the house
Amity: Really? How?
Luz: Trust me, you don't wanna know *shivers*
Amity: Oh... well, I suppose that's for the best, ahaha...
Luz: Yeah...
Amity: So... can we?
