Welcome back —'{ chapter two }'—
Those last hours felt like time had stopped for everyone in the house in paisley and Delilah's head time slowed down every year at the finally hour the kids were running around making sure everything was perfect as Susannah finished the last vase of flowers
Jeremiah watched out the window to see their car pull into the driveway "THERE HERE" he yelled through the house no one had seen Conrad since Delilah woke him but that was not the concern right now
The twins and Jeremiah ran outside quicker than ever both girls tackling belly in a group hug as jer did some bro thing with Steven "look at you girl" paisley said looking the girl up and down causing everyone to laugh "you look good bells" Delilah said smiling at the girl she thanked the twins belly had definitely had a glow up she had contacts instead of glasses her hair seemed longer she finally got her braces off and her choice of clothing was definitely getting better
Jeremiah hugged laurel before she instantly was in a long hug with Susannah "look who came back all grown up" Jeremiah interrupted the twins and belly before picking belly up twirling her while that happened the twins greeted Steven and laurel "aw look at you two" laurel said into the hug "I know they are growing so fast" Susannah agreed "wait where's your mother" she asked both twins shrugged their mom was probably at work "she'll stop by later" paisley said
We all watched as Conrad came from the back of the house as him and belly made deep eye contact and he smiled at her HE SMILED "you saw that right" paisley whispered into her sisters ear which caused her sister to nod with a smile Delilah knew how big of a crush belly had for Conrad and she adored the little moments she saw of the two she knew they were perfect for each other
Steven interrupted everyone in their greeting "hey hey guys" he said hitting jer's arm "I mean I don't know about you but I" he stopped as they all circled confused until Jeremiah and Steven looked at their wrists as if they had watches on them "well I think it's time for a BELLY FLOP" Jeremiah and Steven said the last thing together as everyone's face lit up with a smile
It was like a tradition every summer belly was thrown in the pool by the rest of the kids belly started running as she did everytime but Steven and Jeremiah caught her as Conrad and the twin grabbed her legs dragging her all the way to the backyard where the pool was they all swung her a few times before tossing her into the pool fully clothed and the rest laughed
She came right up with a grumpy face on "guys that's not funny I hurt my ankle" she said floating in the water the twin started to fell bad but stepped back as Conrad went to help and within seconds belly had pulled Conrad into the pool causing the rest of us to also laugh again "got you" she says when he resurfaced
He jumped onto her in the water pulling them both down again and everyone by the pool just watched "I want someone to love me like that" Delilah whispered leaning her head on her sisters shoulder "hey you'll get it one day" her sister assured her leaning her hand on hers
They all watch the two resurfaced as if they were mad at each other the boys didn't think much of it and were quick to walk away paisley following close behind Delilah however helped belly out of the pool "what do you say me and you go out later" she asked wrapping her wet bestfriend in a towel "I don't know what about the movie night with the moms" she questions "what are you serious we aren't little kids anymore belly just think about it there is gonna be a boneyard party tonight" de said as her and her bestfriend walk into the house
As the two girls walked in the house belly dripping water and Delilah completely dry they walked straight into the kitchen to find all three of the mothers "mom?" Delilah questioned as her mother turned around "hi" belly said to Susannah as the both sat at the island watching her cut up fruit "omg bell your dripping water all over the place" laurel said going to find a towel "Georgia laurel" Susannah said in a somewhat low whisper as she put her hand up "they are gorgeous" she whispered as if the girl couldn't hear them both parents nodded "Susannah I love you dearly but we are right here yk" Delilah spoke with a smile on her face as belly held in a laugh
Laurel went to find a towel "you have always been lovely but oh honey look at you" Susannah went on to talk about belly's new look "she's drop dead gorgeous" the somewhat dirty blonde/brunette girl spoke next to the pair "I honestly think I look pretty much the same" belly said "you do not look the same neither of you do if im being honest" the older women spoke smiling at the two girls in front of her
Susannah always wished for girl obviously she ended up with two boys but knowing that her best friends had girl made her feel better because those three girls became like her own
Delilah felt someone behind her and when she turned it was only her mother "I've got to go tell your sister I'll be home later" her mother spoke just as Laurel came in with a towel "Georgia , Laurel they are you two all over again I'm not kidding" Susannah said Causing everyone in the room to laugh as Georgia left
"People always say I look like my dad" her best friend said "nope when me and your mom first met she looked just like you" Susannah said eating a piece of fruit
Delilah felt a feeling of uncomfortableness causing her to excuse herself the twins dad was really in the picture which made Delilah and paisley said but paisley had a better way of hiding it where as Delilah did not
