"Again"

CRZZZ

Streams of blue lightning zipped through the air once more.

The deserted grassy field was shrouded in scorch marks, showing a level of destruction that did not seem normal to the once vibrant greenery.

Thankfully Shin was currently in a secluded area in the woods, away from the prying eyes of the heroes on duty.

Two months had passed by since he got his quirk and Shin had been training nonstop.

He had already grown accustomed to Baal's powers in this short time slot.
The fast progress he was making was all that's to his second wish.

With the previous Djinn holders battle experience, controlling his new power was child's play.
But even so, Shin did not let his new power get to his head and made sure to master them well.

The only part he left untouched was the ultimate spell.

Using them now would surely bring unwanted attention right now, especially since public use of quirk was illegal.

"Huff huff" Shin panted as he transformed back to his normal form.

"Let's head back"

....

Shin walked towards the apartment complex.

He was tired, sleepy and honestly just couldn't wait to bury his head in his thin mattress before his evening training session.

He walked through the front door and made his way through the living room.

Surprisingly the whole family was here today.

Even his father's mistress was present.

Shin raised an eyebrow but did not question it.

"Sign this" his father threw a document at him.

Shin caught it and couldn't help widening his eyes at what the first page wrote.

"Letter of emancipation?"

They wanted to get rid of him? Well he saw this coming but couldn't they have done this earlier?

The UA exams were coming up soon and looking for a place to stay would take time out of his training.

Shin remained silent, the group saw this and thought that he did not want to sign the papers.

"Don't try to beg, it won't work Shin" his mother spoke up.

"We have been suffering a lot because of your defect" she stared at her youngest coldly, "Can't you have some pity on us?"

"If it weren't for me loving your father i would have left a long time ago" this time it was his father's mistress that spoke up.

She placed her hand on his father's chest, "me staying with him even with all the shame you've brought upon me is enough to show my love for Tanaka"

He saw his father stroke her hair in comfort.

"Tsk... this bitch" with his enhanced hearing it was easy to pick up on his mother's words.

Shin just stared at them like they were fools.

'How did i cope with them for so long?' Shin wondered.

He glanced at his elder brother and sister.

Shin noticed a bit of guilt in their expression but then again, it was only a little.

To them, him being gone outweighed any feelings of regret.

Seeing this, Shin did not waste any more time. He signed his name on the documents.

He handed the signed papers over to his father that had been staring at him in disgust.

"Leave and don't think of coming back"

"Wasn't planning on it" he turned around and headed out of the apartment, not bothering to see the shocked look on the old man's face.

...

I came back.

Thinking of his last words to his father, Shin couldn't help blushing a bit.

He stared at his open bedroom window.

"Well at least no one is here..." if he was caught, Shin wouldn't know how to save himself from the embarrassment.

He climbed up the flight of stairs and smoothly jumped through the widow and into his room.

After scanning the room, Shin wasn't shocked to see that nothing looked out of place.

They probably didn't bother checking for anything. After all, even before he transmigrated into this body, the original Shin had never received anything from his family after he was deemed quirkless.

Thinking of his predecessor's suffering, Shin's eyes became cold.

These monsters never went a day without tormenting the poor boy.

Beating him like he was less than dirt.

Starving him like he wasn't even worthy of food.

He remembered that there had been days were the original had been so thirsty that the boy did not hesitate to drink the muddy puddle water on the street.

That even the house's pet dog had even looked at him with scorn as it chewed on it's bone.

He wasn't even qualified to refute that gaze.

Shin caressed his wrist with a sad gaze. He felt the lump on the now healed part of his skin.

Three years and five months ago, one a windy night, the original took his life.

And on that same day, Shin took refuge in his body.

Even though, he had a harder start compared to other transmigrators from the fanfics he's read about, Shin was still thankful to have a second chance at life.

He got to work on clearing his belongings, such as his school uniform and other clothing, bags  with some necessities and savings he had worked hard to accumulate over the years.

Luckily for him, his predecessor was a smart one.

After seeing the change in his family he made sure to save as much as possible.

And when Shin took over, he wasn't like the former that had a moral compass towards the people that treated him so poorly.

Shin had never hesitated to steal some money from their rooms when no one was around. Any cash he saw around would instantly find it's way in his hand.

And surprisingly, even when they noticed their money going missing from time to time, they had never once questioned him on it.

Whether it was because they saw the change in him after he transmigrated into this body and unconsciously became wary of him or they just didn't believe he would have the guts to steal from them, Shin didn't know.

But because of this, he now had enough money to cover four months worth of rent in internet cafes and if the manuscript he submitted to the publishing firm get's picked, Shin would have a stable source of income to live on.

Shin thought of all this and suddenly felt like getting kicked of this house was a blessing in disguise.

After all, now that he legally wasn't bind to them, could they still reap the benefit's once he becomes a hero?
