A pair of wings are pretty much worthless without any feathers.
They act as a propeller; keeping you above what wants to pull you back down.
Much like the wing the soul itself needs feathers.
It craves them.
Otherwise what's the point of trying to fly if your wings are just bare bone.
What you were attempting to fly away from will just pull you back down again.
