"Is it just me or is he acting a little strange around you? I mean he acted like you weren't even there." Nixie asked. I feel a pain in my chest and my mind freezes. I have no words. I rake my brain trying to think about what I could have done wrong. I hadn't seen Beel since self-defense yesterday morning and that went well. Nixie pats me on the back. "Maybe he's just being rude. Don't worry about it, Jess." Is she worried about me? I give her a smile.

Seriously?! Belphie, the bloody toe rag, was practically passed out on a bench in the Planetarium and he would not wake up. We tried yelling and physically shaking him and nothing. Dude can sleep, lucky bastard. We eventually just get on with it and clean around him. And we cleaned as loudly as humanly possible and the Avatar of Sloth lived up to his name.
As I was scrubbing the floor under the bench Belphie was sleeping on I heard it creak. I pause as Belphie mutters something and pull back from under the bench just as his arm snakes out and wraps around my neck. His other arm grabs my waist and I am very suddenly in the embrace of a sleeping demon.
Nixie looks like she has just been flashed by her grandma. We are both shocked. It dawns on me that Belphie is hugging me and I feel the heat of my blush rising like an inferno. Nixie jumps forward incredibly fast and rips his arm from my neck and grabs me, pulling me to my feet. "Are you okay, Jess?!" I can hear the edge of panic in her voice. I stare blankly at her before nodding. I look back down at Belphies still sleeping form and the heat rises in my cheeks again. He looks so soft and sweet when he is asleep.

Nixie thanks me and apologises about the twins. I'm not sure why she is apologising, it was my fault Beel was weird and I don't think the Belphie incident was anyone's fault. I give Nixie a hug before I head home with Kohdor and Luke. I am totally going to eat food and go to bed, cleaning is exhausting.

Due to the wonderful disaster of a shopping trip on Tuesday I have to spend my Thursday afternoon shopping. Again. At least Luke was free for the afternoon and agreed to come with me. Simeon seemed hesitant to let just the two of us go alone but relented in the end when I pleaded with him.
So here I am, in a gorgeous dress store with my assistant Luke. I have all the girls' measurements as I weave through velvet, lace, leather and chiffon. "So what are we looking for?" Luke pipes up from behind a rack of leather straps in the shape of dresses.
"Dresses for Benji's party for us first-year girls. I have the girls' measurements and they told me what they like so we have just gotta find the dress that just screams them." I browse some of the shorter-length dresses, but nope not good for a ball. "Oh, and we are trying to keep it sort of colour-themed, sorta. But if something screams them that's what we go for, got it?"
Luke arches an eyebrow at me. "That barely made anything clearer."
"Shush you! Look for Nixie, Akio and Bibby in dress form. That's what I meant!" I huff at him which makes him smile brightly like a kid.
"You have a strange way of thinking Jess. Alright, find them as a dress, sounds easy enough." He starts shuffling through dresses in search of the perfect ones.
Easy enough, my arse! We have spent the last hour combing through the store and come up empty-handed. "Suck a kumara!" I yell out loud getting a dirty look from the cashier and startling Luke.
"Jess! Are you alright?" He rushes over and looks me over and around me, checking for any danger I'm guessing.
I wave my hand at him. "Yea, yea. Just pissed we haven't found anything. I just want some ball gowns!"
