For the rest of the day lay and rested, ate some waffles and watched T.V. on the couch. All I could think of was that something was wrong, me and mom both could feel the tension in the air.
"Mom, is something wrong?" I said sitting in my sprawled state on the brown leather couch.
"I don't know, I think it's only a figment of our imaginations." She said as she carried her load of laundry to the washroom, and the phone rang.
"I'll get it." I said, running to the phone in kitchen..."Unknown caller". Hm. I picked it up, not knowing that that was the phone call that would make my already distorted world even more upside down.
"Is this the O'niell family?" It was the principal, Mrs. Ann. "Yes, this is Chase, my mother's doing laundry now so she couldn't pick up."
There was a pause over the phone when she said those chilling, dark words,"Chase, your brother Sam got hit by a car a few minutes ago. The odds are he might not live." right then and there, I dropped the phone on the ground, and fainted for the second time in my life.
