15 | SHE'S EVERYTHIHG TO ME

THE DAY AFTER THAT NIGHT.

"What did you get, yuta?"

yuta stood up, holding a piece of paper that had to be the information he received from his interrogation with jaehyun. doyoung held an emergency meeting right after the incident, only God knew how frustrated he was. he didn't even have time to sleep, much as refresh himself with a shower.

"so, it was confirmed that jaehyun was telling the exact truth during the whole interrogation. he didn't lie at any single detail, thankfully," yuta started talking, and the others wrote down a few notes.

"it seemed that jaehyun escaped with another 3 prisoners," yuta passed copies of the three prisoners to everyone who attended the meeting, including doyoung. "they escaped by knocking down three guards, you can watch the CCTV record on my computer, or just ask me to send a copy,"

"and jaehyun's first intention was to run away from this country. he went to Kim daeun because he wanted to use her as a hostage, and made the police pay for a million-dollar"

"but daeun is so intelligent that she escaped jaehyun and ran to her best friend, lee donghyuck, well known as haechan. no charges will be put against daeun since all she did was self-defense. she is now at lee haechan's painting studio, being treated there because as far as i know, she hated the hospital. but back to jaehyun, he told me that the three prisoners had escaped to the forest, and they are taking a route to the sea,"

"excuse me, but why the sea?" an officer interfered.

"Unfortunately, jaehyun stopped speaking when I asked that. but from my speculations, maybe it's their other way to escape to another country. expecting a boat, a ship, or anything there,"

"Alright, thanks yuta," doyoung patted his best friend's shoulder before he took a deep breath.

"get every officer in this area and put up a massive search. I want them found quickly,"

everyone nodded before doyoung ended the meeting. officers immediately exited the meeting room and started their work, while yuta and jungwoo stayed there. "you look terrible, doyoung,"

"yeah, we got jaehyun. he is now being watched by at least 5 guards at one time and is not allowed to communicate with other inmates. and daeun, she is fine. what are you so messed up about?"

doyoung sighed, leaning himself against the board.

"im sorry, it's just... these few days i am so tired of work. and i had responsibilities to take care of daeun as she heal. and she did, but when she did i become a mess. i forget things, i rush so damn a lot, and sometimes i even forget where i am. it's frustrating, especially the fact this happened again. the damage happened again, it's just a whole deja vu," he said.

"all i ask for was happiness for daeun. but it seems like the universe hates seeing my little cousin smiling,"

haechan never slept that night.

he sat in his office, staring at the wall that he thought for minutes but minutes became hours, hours became the whole night. whenever he tried to close his eyes, the image of daeun all bruised and hurt came into his mind. and he hated seeing that, he hated seeing daeun like that. the sound of her sobs, whimpers, and groans while being in pain, he wished it was just a bad nightmare.

doyoung left her at his studio because daeun never liked the hospital. haechan wondered why, and debated if it was okay to ask her about that. he sighed, leaning against his chair. he had begged his customers to extend the due date of their commissions,

because he wished to focus on nothing other than her.

renjun had called earlier, asking if he had breakfast. haechan took a quick shower earlier since his hand was slightly covered with blood. and he also stayed by daeun's side when the doctor examined her, taking pictures of her bruised parts for the case and treating all of her wounds. they laid her down on his bed, and she had been unconscious for 7 hours. haechan did have some bread that he kept in his pantry, but that was it. he didn't feel like eating anything, not when someone he loved so much was in such pain like that.
