"you think the russians know?" dustin quizzed.

"about the..." steve trailed off.

"they could." adella muttered nervously.

"so it's connected?" steve asked.

"maybe." dustin responded.

"how?" steve questioned.

"i don't know, but it's..."

"possible." the trio finished dustin's sentence in unison.

"i'm sorry, is there something you'd like to share with the class?" robin asked, turning to look at them.

before they could answer, static hissed and russian could be heard over dustin's radio. they crouched down and erica pulled out the walkie-talkie, handing it to robin who pulled out the antenna to get better signal.

it was the russian code and robin repeated it, "'Поездка в Китай звучит красиво. если ты ступишь налегке'. it's the code." (a trip to china sounds nice. if you tread lightly)

"wherever that broadcast is coming from-"

"it's close." robin said, cutting dustin off. "and if there's one thing we know about that signal..."

"it can reach the surface." adella grinned and robin smiled back.

"let's go." robin said and they stood up again, placing the walkie-talkie back into erica's rucksack.

soon, they got to a more crowded area so they had to be carful. a small vehicle went past and the group hid behind a box shaped machine. steve poked his head out first, "okay, clear. clear, come on, let's go."

"okay, that was close." robin mumbled as they all followed steve.

"too close." dustin added.

"relax. alright? relax. nobody saw..." steve trailed off when they found what seemed to be the centre of the russian base, filled with men, scientists and passing vehicles.

one of the men on a higher level with a large gun glanced down below and the group quickly hid behind a very small box, pressed against the wall.

"red dawn." dustin said.

"i saw it. first floor, northwest." erica whispered.

"saw what?" steve asked.

"the coms room." erica answered.

"you saw the coms room?" steve repeated.

"correct." erica nodded.

"are you sure?" steve questioned.

"positive. the door was open for a second, and i saw a bunch of lights and machines and shit in there." erica explained quickly, looking past steve.

"that could be a hundred different things." dustin denied.

"i'll take those odds." robin said to adella and steve.

steve sighed and shook his head but they all looked out past the box before shrinking back, "alright. we're gonna move fast, we're gonna stay low. okay?"

"mhm." adella hummed and steve started walking, his back hunched so the other followed his movements.

they snuck around, moving past scientists until the door of the coms room opened, a man walking out. waving for them to follow him, steve rushed into the room and they managed to get inside without anyone seeing them, astonishingly.

however, a russian man was sat at the coms when they turned around. he saw them and stood, placing a hand on his gun on his waist.

robin stood forwards quickly, holding a hand out, "действовать осторожно! действовать осторожно!" (tread lightly! tread lightly)

"кто ты?" he demanded. (who are you?)

"серебряный кот... серебряный кот." adella added, moving to stand beside robin, pointing between the group and robin did the same as she spoke. (silver cat... silver cat)

"я не понимаю." he said in confusion. (i don't understand)

"китай?" robin offered. (china?)

the man scoffed at her and went to unlock the gun from his waist but steve yelled it suddenly and ran at him, tackling the russian into the table behind him. the russian threw steve onto the other station beside them.

the russian man swung at him and steve grunted, falling back. grabbing his shirt, the russian threw him down on his stomach on the table before grabbing the back of his shirt only to be elbowed in the stomach by steve.

quickly, steve grabbed one of the phones from the station and flipped it in his hand, spinning and whacking it across the russian's face, and he fell into the table behind them, and then to the floor, knocked out.

"dude!" dustin yelled happily making steve look to him. "you did it! you won a fight!"

"jeez..." steve panted before laughing softly.

dustin ran to grab the keycard from the russians waist making erica sigh, "what are you doing?"

"getting us our ticket out of here." dustin replied.

"you want to walk all the way back?" erica asked, shocked.

"well, we can hang out for a little bit, relax, have a picnic maybe." dustin joked sassily.

"have a picnic? we came here for the radio." erica stated.

"robin?" adella asked when she saw the girl walking up the steps towards a blue light above them. she followed up the steps, "what are you looking... at..."

robin glanced at the girl who gulped loudly before she ran down the steps, "guys. there's something up there."

they all walked through the door cautiously and looked through a window to get a closer look. blue light illuminated the window they were at, reflecting on their faces.

"holy shit." dustin muttered.

"fuck." adella whispered when she saw the gate trying to be opened again and it looked as though they were close to getting there.
