At the counter, sat who I think is Tommy's mom. Tea in hand, reading a book, the books name looed something like “a good girl’s guide to murder” I mummbled a bit, I couldnt really tell from here. As she heard me walk down the creaky stairs, she looked at me.

“My name is Sarah, Sarah Simons. How do you know my son?'' I walked over to the table, sitting down in front of her.

“Nice to meet you goldfish’s mom. My name is y/n. I work at a tea shop, about 15 minutes from here. My parents actually own it. I'm the only worker they have, and soon in about one or two years, I'll own it. And your son comes and bothers me everyday.” she chuckled a little bit. Most likely at something I said.

“Did you just call me “goldfish’s mom?'' I realized what I said, and started to laugh a little as well.

“I’m sorry, it's something I call them. They didn't tell me their name at first, and they kinda looked like a goldfish looking around my store, so I just called them goldfish. They hate it.'' I laugh a little more at myself.

“Well, shouldn’t you be going? It's getting late you know?'' I looked at her and pointed to Tommy's room.

“I kinda promised that dumbass that I would sleep in his room. And my parents give me way too much freedom…anyways, I better get up there. Before he wakes up, and throws a little fit.'' I chuckled a bit. Leaving the dimly lit kitchen. I walked back up those painful steps. Once I opened Tommy's door, he sat there on the bed, like a puppy waiting for me.

They opened their arms for a hug, yawning in the process. As I walked over he slowly got inpatient. It was the cutest thing ever. Their hair was all messed up, cow licks everywhere, hoodie full of wrinkles.

“Are you sure, you wanna wear jeans to sleep?'' I giggled a little at him, he just nodded and waited for me to hug him so we could lay down.

I got to his arms, and gave him a hug, and within seconds, we were laying down on their bed, me being tangled in all their limbs. He put his chin on my head.

“Sleep.” they tiredly mumbled to me. Doing as told. I laid my head on their red hoodie, breathing in their scent. They smelled like a mix of campfires, vanilla, and sugar cookies. It was nice. I could feel their heartbeat. It was quick, fast, till it wasn't. Till they were fast asleep holding onto me like a lifeline. They were so warm. They felt like summer. So nice.

My breath evened out, my vision blurred, I closed my eyes, and next thing I knew. Sleep had taken me, in the soft, warm, campfire, vanilla, and sugar cookie, smelling arms.

I felt someone breathing on my neck. And it was bright outside.  I think that's what woke me up. I felt something on my back, and on my waist. Oh yeah, and my arms, and legs. I open my eyes, and look around, ok, someone’s cuddling me? What happened last night?.....oh shit, I'm cuddling a goldfish. I grab my phone from the nightstand, I look at the time 7am. Ok, I have an hour before I have to go to work.

As much as I would like to stay in their arms, I wiggle out without waking them. Thankfully. I unplug my charger, walk over to their closet, casually steel one of their hoodies. I put the hoodie on me, and god fucking damn it. It swallows me!! I steal a pad of paper out of his drawers. Scribble something on a piece of paper, and tear it out. I lay it on his night stand. Slip on my shoes and rush out the house.

Standing at the counter, it's now about 4pm. Goldfish still haven't come to the store, which is worrying. He’s normally here by noon. Did i upset him? Shit, what if he wanted me to stay there was just some tired thought, kinda thing? I hope not.

The bell above the door rang. Speak of the devil. There he stands. He looks like a mess, I honestly wonder what happened. Is he ok? He looked at me, and crashed to the floor, the store was empty, no one else but me and him. It was a Saturday so we closed at 5. I ran in front of him. Kneeling down. I put my hands on both sides of his face, making them look at me, tears running down their faces.

“Hey!! Hey, what's wrong…?” they just continued to sob. Instead of holding their face, I pulled them towards me, a strong comforting hug. I started to trace shapes into their back.

I don't know how long we sat there. But they just kept crying, crying, and crying. Wouldn't say a word. Just crying, latched onto as if, when they let go, I would disappear. Eventually, they stopped crying, just sat there in shock in my arms. I tried to talk to them, but they said not a peep. I lifted their head again, both my hands laid gently on their cheeks.

“Are you ok now..?” I whispered to them. They nodded their head, still shaking.

“Hey, how about I make you some tea, and we go back to my house?” they nodded their head in my hands again. I don't mind non-verbial. He’s still goldfish. And always will be. I started to stand up, but I was unable to. He just held onto me.

“Hey, you wanna get on my back, so I can at least make your tea, then I can carry you to my house?'' I gave him a light smile. It took them a minute, it looked like they were thinking about it. But they did end up nodding. Giving me a small, warm, smile in the process. God, this boy is going to be the death of me.

I got down in a running position in front of them. Wait for them to get on my back. They got on, and held onto me like a koala. I got up and wobbled a little. But quickly got the hang of it. Walking around, with a sad, tall ass boy on my back, just trying to make tea.

“I hope you don't mind lavender tea, it's the easiest to make. No one has been ordering it, so we have a ton.” he nodded again, he's been doing a lot of that.

Once the boy had gotten their tea, they still didn't let go of me, holding onto my sleeve. Not that I mind, I'm just…..worried. They put the teacup on the table. He looked over to me, noticing something, his eyes light up, and his cheeks became a light pink, and his flat line, became a small smile. “ my hoodie…” he whispered while looking at me. Oh!! Yeah, I kinda forgot I was wearing his hoodie.

“Oh, um, yeah I kinda stole it this morning. I hope you don't mind?” he shook his head no. He finished his tea moments later, reaching his arms out to me. “I guess it's time to go to my house, huh?'' I looked at him with a smile, picking him up the same way I did yesterday. Him nodding his head.

“Come on, lets go my big baby.'' I walked out of the store after closing everything up. It was still bright outside, but like yesterday, we went home, and fell asleep in eachothers arms.
