"𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑜 𝑑𝑖𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑦𝑒𝑡 𝑠𝑜 𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒."

A messy haired boy moved and pushed his way through the heavy crowd gathered at the king cross station. His hazel eyes stared around the large station, fascinated by the muggles as he pushed his trolley which had his belongings. He kept glancing down at the cage of his owl in the fear of it falling down.

"James slow down." A voice belonging to the boy's mother came ushering him to slow down. A moment later the boy's parents, Fleamont Potter and Euphemia Potter, caught up with him. The couple had accompanied their son, James Potter, to the station to drop him off. He had to get on the hogwarts express on the platform 9 ¾ which went from London to hogwarts in Scotland.

James had been ready to go to hogwarts all his life and was beyond excited when he finally got his letter a few months after his 11th birthday. His parents had been waiting for this moment as well but couldn't help but think that their little boy was going away. Their house would be too quiet rather than its usual state.

The family stopped walking when they reached the barrier between platforms 9 and 10. "How do we get on the magical platform?" Questioned James.

"Yes, you have to walk straight at the wall between platforms 9 and 10." Answered Euphemia.

"That was literal? I thought you both were joking." Bemused the boy upon hearing her mother's answer. The couple had told James tons of their memories from hogwarts.

"Come on we'll go together." Encouraged Fleamont as Euphemia and him put their hands on the trolley as well. James took a deep breath as his parents and him took their first step and then increased their pace as they  got closer to the wall. In a second they walked straight through the wall with a swish sound. And in front of them, there was the magical platform 9 ¾.

A beautiful scarlet steam engine was in the view as it waited for the passengers to board till the right time. A sign overheard said hogwarts' express, eleven o'clock. Families were moving around, parents were bidding their children goodbye, a few older students could be seen greeting each other, and some young first years were too staring around the platform with an expression on awe with a hint of hesitation.

Smoke from the engine drifted after the heads of the chattering crowd, while cats of different colors wound here and there. Owls hooted to one another in a disgruntled sort of way over the babble and scraping of heavy trunks.

James pushed his glasses up his nose as he glanced around the beautiful train and platform.

"Oh I haven't been here since the end of my seventh year." Said Euphemia. Memories came flooding in her mind of the last day there, she remembered crying so much. Fleamont nodded at his wife's words as he looked at his son's reaction. Both parents couldn't help but get excited themselves.
