"Y/n!" Chiyo squealed as she ran over to me
I grunted as she nearly tackled me into a hug like she hadn't seen me last week.
"Chiyo" I grunted
"Sorry I'm just so happy we're going to the same school" she told me as she took a few steps back
I hummed as I opened my locker
"What made you change your mind anyways?" I asked
"Just thought about when I was younger and all I wanted to do was go to the same school as my brother"
I chuckled
"What's your schedule look like" she said as she took it from my bag
I watched as she scanned it noticing her grin grown bigger by the second.
"We have the same class!" She nearly shouted
I quickly covered her mouth
"Would you lower your voice" I whisper as I glance at a few students looking at us
She looked at me blankly for a few seconds before she nodded.
"Sorry I'm just excited"
I shook my head as I changed my shoes before closing my locker, we both made our way to the classroom.
"When are the tryouts for the girls team?" I asked as I sat down
"There today after school"
"Are you ready?" I asked
Her eyes widen and I swear I could see sparkles around her.
"More than ready!" She said excitedly as she placed her hands on my shoulder and shook me slightly
"You and your brother are very different" I muttered as I lightly take her hands off me
At the mention of her brother she quickly calmed down
"We are not" she protested as she crossed her arms
I snickered
"Yes you are"
"We are not" she argued
I rose an eyebrow
"How do I say this" I muttered to myself
Chiyo stayed quiet as she waited for me to finish
"Your a very loud and chaotic person while your brother is more quiet and calm" I told her
She grunted
"Your making it sound like I'm the annoying one" she muttered
I chuckled as I patted her back, our conversation was cut short when the teacher walked in and started class.
Timeskip
Me and Chiyo walked down the hallway towards the gym where the girl tryouts where gonna be held.
"I'm gonna mess up" she muttered
I shook my head as I wrapped my arm around her shoulder.
"No your not Chiyo just remember you are a great player plus you went to nationals twice" I told her
She perked up at the mention of nationals and her mood did a quick one eighty.
"You're right!" She shouted as she slammed her closed fist into her palm
I flinched as she shouted in my ear
"Stop shouting" I muttered
When we reached the gym she paused
"Shit"
"What?" I questioned
"My brother has my water" she cried
I sighed
"I'll go grab it do you know where he is" I asked
She looked at me blankly as she thought for a moment
"He mentioned going to see some first years"
I nodded as I turned on my heel and started to walk off.
"Go faster!" She shouted
I groaned as I started to jog towards the gym, it took me a few minutes to reach it. Once I did I walked into the gym and sighed when I didn't see Chiyo's brother though I did see a few first years.
"Hello" I said awkwardly
There heads snapped towards me making me sweat a little.
"Are you the manager?" One asked
"No" I say plainly
"Your Y/n L/n" the short one said
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow
"Yes and you are" I ask
"I'm Nishinoya Yuu" he said as he put his hand on his chest
"Nice to meet you" I say as I smile at him
Though my smile faltered when him and a kid with a buzz cut started whispering to each other.
When I heard the gym door open I turned around ignoring the two whispering teens.
"Sugawara!" I shouted making the said boy jump slightly at my loudness
"Y/n?" He asked confused
I walked over to him
"I need your sisters water bottle" I said
He looked at me blankly as he thought for a few moments before he sighed.
"I told her to stop putting it in my bag" he muttered
With that he turned and walked out, I threw head back in frustration.
It fell into an awkward silence so I rocked back and forth on my feet as I looked anywhere but at the few people in the gym.
"Why aren't you at tryouts with Chiyo?" Sugawara asked as he walked back in with her water in hand
"To get her water " I said with a blank look wondering if he truly was the smarter one between them
He frowned slightly as he handed me the water.
"She can get her own water" he muttered making me chuckle
I lightly slapped his shoulder
"We both know that if she came to get her water she would take an hour and miss tryouts" I told him as I laughed
He smiled softly as he shook his head
"Thanks" I say as I walk out
I quickly jogged back to the gym, once I reached the doors I opened them almost slamming it against the wall but lucky I was able to stop it
"Thank you" Chiyo shouted as she ran over
She quickly took the water from my hands making me grunt
"You know you should stop giving your water to your brother" I tell her as we walk over to where she put our bags
She shrugged as she sat on the bench
"I forgot it at home so that's the only reason as to why he had it"
I raise my eyebrow as I look at her
"I can count at least five times you forgot your water last year" I tell her
She looks at me for a few moments before she goes back to what she was doing.
After a few minutes the coach blew the whistle meaning that tryouts had begun.
