-We thought we should include you in our training today. -started Hiccup- Truth is we aren't too familiar with Boreas' kind, even less the titan class, so we want to see what you two have to show.
-And you are going to attack us with those weapons? Or do you just keep them around for decoration?
-Those weapons are for you to try. Being a dragon rider-
-Which you don't have to be if you don't want to -interrupted Hiccup quickly.
-Is both works of the dragon and the rider. Both of them have to be able to defend themselves in case they get separated.
-Right... -I said while getting closer to the weapons, scared about the idea of using any of them- Better plan yet, what if I don't get separated from Boreas to begin with?
-Nice try. Come on, there has to be something you know how to use. You helped me make my axe.
-Yeah, but it's not the same to build them than to use them. Besides, I just use them to get wood or as tools, not as, you know, people killing. Only thing I know how to use to defend myself is this. -I grabbed the dagger from the table, but it was pretty rusty- You guys ever clean these?
-To be fair she does know how to use it pretty well -said Tuff.
I threw the dagger to one of the targets. Bull's eye.
-Dagger skills aside, my thing still isn't hand to hand combat. And I don't like heavy weapons that might slow me down or fuck up my stealthiness.
-Well, to be fair Fishlegs isn't a hand to hand fighter either. Or a fighter at all -said Ruff.
-That's why I usually stay behind or work only in the air. And my dragon knowledge is my best weapon.
-If close combat isn't your thing, what about a bow? You already have good aim, it might work. That or a crossbow, tho it'd be heavier.
-I guess that might work, yeah.
-I can teach you how to use them if you wanna, I'm always available for you Alex -said Snotlout with a wink.
I threw my own dagger at his helmet and hit it, making it fall from his head and earning a girly scream from the cocky Viking. We chuckled at his reaction and he seemed to mumble something before picking it up.
-What if you show us what Boreas can do? First here, then we'd like to see you guys flying.
-Sure. Well, Boreas is a snow dragon, so his main thing is shooting ice.
My dragon hit the target with a ball of ice, as I started listing his abilities.
-He can also hit the water to freeze it into solid ice. As well as shoot snow but that doesn't prove to be too useful.
The woolly howl proved my point by freezing the water inside of a cube that was around, earning a "woah" from some Vikings.
-And of course, the mist. He can make it cold enough to freeze those in it, or just create a layer of white fog to hide in.
A low layer of mist surrounded the arena quickly, and Boreas looked proud of himself.
-Well, that's nice and all, but can your dragon do this? -Snotlout said.
He gestured at Hookfang, who lit up on fire, giving my dragon a cocky grin. Boreas shot thick and dense frozen air to the monstrous nightmare and its fire went away. He tried to make the fire come back, but apparently, he couldn't.
-The mist Boreas makes is cold and close to being snow, but in contact with fire it warms up and turns into water, making whatever surface, even a dragon's skin, unable to light up again.
