A shooting pain went through my head causing me to let out a groan. I blinked away at the bright light that was blinding me. I rubbed my eyes trying to get the black dots to disappear from my vision.

"Lash! He is waking up."

I blinked away the dots that still swarmed my vision. I sat up grabbing my head.

"Why does my head feel like someone took a sled hammer to my skull. Better yet, why can't I move my leg?"

I opened my eyes fully to see Cedar, my mom, dad, and sister were all sitting around me. My dad scratched the back of his head nervously while my mom sent him glares from where she sat.

"That would be my doing. I had to knock you out, you lost full control, son. You were going to kill a lot of people if I didn't."

I blinked a few times trying to recall anything. I could kinda remember feeling angry at Damin but unsure of the reason or why I lost control. I rubbed my head trying to remember which only made my head hurt worse.

"Lorum, you are not going to be able to remember. That tends to happen when you lose control. It is kinda like blacking out."

My dad placed a hand on my shoulder, gently pushing me back down into the pillow. I was still confused but he was right when you lose control it is like someone else takes over. You don't hold the memories since it wasn't you that was doing the actions.

"It was because of Damien's blade anyone with a curse running through them can see the glow on them. That is why you, your dad, and I could see the glow. I didn't say anything because I didn't even know that I had a curse."

Cedar's voice shook. I looked at him unsure why he was able to see the blades. He looked scared about it. He was more pail compared to normal and my dad looked scared as he knew something the rest of us didn't. Lash scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"I would ask your mom and dad about that one. I can't tell you as it is not in my place to say. I am sorry kiddo. You know I would if I felt like I could but I think Rain would kick my butt and my wife would help him by the looks she is giving me at the moment."

Cedar nodded understandingly. He forced a sad smile which I returned but winced due to the sharp pain that went through my scalp. My mom had a proud smirk on her face like she just taught a dog a new trick which I guess she kinda did since my dad didn't say anything for once.

"Hello Mr. Lash, I see Mr. Lorum took after you on injury-prone."

The robotic voice of Eir caused us to jump, turning our attention to the kind, medical God. She ran her hand over my body. Her hand's emitted a soft golden glow and the splitting headache I was feeling seconds ago disappeared but the discomfort in me didn't go away. Eir smiled sadly.

"Mr. Lorum you took quite the fall and broke your leg. That is going to take a few days to heal as I can't heal it all in one go. Only section by section. Eir is sorry."

I smiled and waved her apology away. She always apologizes when she couldn't do something. This always confused me as there was only so much she could do.

"No need to apologize Eir, I know you are doing the best that you can do."

She smiled and patted my shoulder kindly.

"Mr. Lorum is always so kind, much like his mom."

Then she turned and walked back to her little desk on the other side of the medical room. The high ceilings shone a bright gold that shocked your eyes a little. It smelt of medical wipes and rubbing alcohol. It was comfortable but scary at the same time. I smiled at the others.

"Well, I guess I am stuck here for a day or two."

Cedar laughed and pulled out a deck of cards and bumped me over so he could lay next to me on the tiny cot.

"Don't worry, I volunteered to stay with ya through the boring hours. Eir is even letting me sleep in one of the extra beds!"

He sounded so excited. It was like when he met Damin all over again. His sentences were rushed and held the largest smile you could imagine. His hyper attitude made us all laugh. Mom stood up, placing a kiss on my forehead and then Cedar's. She did that since we were kids. Cedar might as well be part of the family saying he was always in my room more than his by his parent's sector of the castle.

"Well, I need to get your sister back to her room. We are housing Damin and Verena while they stay here. Damien is in your room using the spare bed. So when you get out, please be nice. I know he gets on his nerves but he is a long way from home. I hope you two can get over your differences in the long run. It would be nice to finally create an alliance between our worlds. I know your father had to sit down with him to let him understand what was going on and why you acted the way you did, but you should talk to him too. It would make the next couple of months go by much more pleasantly."

I nodded, sighing in understanding.

"You are right, I don't know what I did but it had to be pretty bad for me to lose control. I haven't had an episode for what a year? I will make sure to apologize. I am sorry for losing control."

I watch Reena roll her eyes and mouth 'suck up'. I snickered but my mom didn't seem to notice and smiled sweetly at Cedar and me.

"No worries, all good. We will see you in the morning, ok?"

I nodded and then my family headed out of the infirmary. Cedar got up, dragging his borrowed bed closer to me, making me laugh harder. I grabbed my head wincing at the pain that went through my head.

"So what do you wanna do? Movie, Game, Chat? I brought cards you know."

I shook my head.

"What about sleep?"

He smiled, putting his finger to the tip of his nose.

"That sounds splendid!"

I re-closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep."
