this is absolutely self-indulgent -v- i tried to check the facts, but still, correct me if im wrong!^^

TW: injuries, insects, mentions of vomit, mentions of alcohol, other biological stuff that might be upsetting

also. i just realized i absolutely FORGOT that valerius is also a courtier and have been excluding him from all my headcanons ;-; thats just how my brain functions. sorry. he'll be included from now on. anyways, should i write a catch-up chapter dedicated to him only?

----------------

Volta🤍
• telescopefish is a deep-sea fish that can swallow prey larger than itself. i won't add pictures so as not to jumpscare you, but if you're curious, google it. it looks exactly like volta's demon form
• most insects adopt the flavor of what they've been fed. i didn't check this one
• an average person eats about 7 spiders in their life while asleep. or 6? i don't remember. would it be better if it was 6, really?
• there was a man who ate an airplane. it took him 2 years (1978-1980) to eat it piece by piece, but he did it and lived 27 years after that
• rodents can't vomit. that's exactly why poisons are effective against them.

Vulgora❤️‍🔥
• no, you can't bite off a finger like a carrot. it's a myth. though there were cases of human fingers bitten off by humans, it takes so much more force
• this symbol ♂️ actually represents Mars' shield and spear! i know vulgora is nonbinary, i just love the meaning of the symbol
• it would take ~400 grown up men to forge a sword with their blood, if you take iron from it
• in 1866, Liechtenstein sent an army of 80 men to fight in Austro-Prussian war. not only did they all return home alive, they also brought a friend. yup, 80 people left, 81 came back
• there was a man who got struck by lightning 7 times and survived. in case you wanna research further, his name was Roy Sullivan.

Vlastomil🖤
• worms (and snails, too) are germaphrodites. it implies that vlastomil's pet worms have genders, because he calls them "he" or "she"
• the biggest worm ever caught was 6.7 m (22ft) long. the actual longest worm might not have been caught yet
• there's a measuring unit of how many parasites a hedgehog picks up while walking in the forest. i don't remember what's it called, sadly
• speaking of hedgehogs, they have no cerebral cortex. all other mammals have it
• there's a fungus that turns ants into zombies. basically, it infects an ant, controls it's behaviour, makes it leave its nest and then sprouts from it's corpse. it's called Ophiocordiceps unilateralis.

Valdemar🫀
• 98,5-99,5% of our genome don't do anything. about 1% of dna determines our many physical features, and the rest just.. kinda exists
• there's a star that is estimated to be older than the universe. it's HD 140283
• entropy is a measure of chaos in a system. the entropy of the universe is constantly growing, meaning it's turning to chaos
• prions are, simply put, creepy crazy proteins that just happen in a brain and make holes in it. we don't know how and why and what they are
• needles for lethal injections for executions must be disinfected.

Valerius🤎
• i calculated that you would need ~2,6 litres of wine to get a daily dose of calories. of course, it's nowhere near healthy
• i didn't find proof for this one, but it sounds so fitting!! in ~16th century venice blond hair was considered peak beauty, so people with dark hair bleached it by sitting in the sun. they even had hats with holes in them to leave the hair out and protect the face and shoulders from sunburns
• in latin language, word order doesn't matter much really
• oleander is a plant so poisonous that even honey made by bees that pollinate it is toxic enough to kill a person
• a 70kg human body contains about 0.2 miligrams of gold.

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
edit: sorry fellow humans, i checked the DNA fact and it's not correct. my biology teacher told it to us a couple years ago but i never bothered to check, well
