And what did your best friend have to say about our alien abduction story?

Damn, he's got me there. Telling him that Peyton absolutely ridiculed my idea will somehow prove him right and telling him that I haven't told her yet, would also prove him right because why wouldn't I have told her already when she's my best friend?

It's crazy because that's literally how things went but, I don't want to let him win just yet.

There's a skip in my heartbeat and then it feels as if my chest tightens a little bit, like I'm angry but, I'm not angry. This feeling feels just as foreign as that usual heaviness. A reply comes in from Jeremiah.

Um do you have amnesia or something? You literally blew me off when I tried to talk about it at school 🙄

I'm sorry. That just wasn't really a good time for me but I'm up to talk about it now

Have you noticed anything different with you?

Those strange emotions I have been getting doesn't seem normal. I need to tell someone about it. My friends are off the table for now and Jeremiah doesn't seem like the understanding type so, I don't want to tell him just yet. I want to know first if maybe this has something to do with what happened to us: maybe it's happening to him too.

I purse my lips. Maybe I'm overreacting? Jeremiah's not feeling any different and apart from my varying emotions that started today, I haven't really noticed anything else. Maybe I am thinking about this way too much. Maybe the aliens did nothing to us. Maybe they just wanted to observe humans closely. I've never really heard much of madmen having any strange occurrences happen to them after an abduction.

Although, it really feels weird that I am about to let this go so easily. That I really got abducted by aliens (there's no other explanation) and I'm gonna just move on from it. I don't even think I'm gonna tell my mom anymore.
