So, was I like, Alien-possesed?

"That's strange, why would I act like that?"

"I may be wrong, but I'm guessing the glowing ball that fell on us had a lot to do with it."

I quirk an eyebrow. "Oh so now you're on board with my alien abduction theory?"

"I never said I wasn't," he clarifies, smiling. "I was just surprised you were on board with it too."

I roll my eyes. "Obviously, that's what this is. What else would explain a glowing ball falling from the sky?"

He purses his lips. "So, you think it was like an alien spaceship or something?"

I sigh. "I don't know what it is, all I know is, some weird shit happened to us and that would explain me acting like that."

"But I didn't act like that," he counters. "And also, I haven't really noticed anything off with me...have you?"

"I woke up late today, which is, super weird." And I also woke up on the couch...

"Maybe that's because you were up so late in the middle of the woods and got hit by an alien ball?"

I shake my head. "I don't know, but I just feel there's something up with us...we just haven't figured it out yet."

Jeremiah crosses his arms over his chest, his eyes set on the ground, as if thinking.

"I mean, I'm pretty sure we were abducted by aliens and I'm pretty sure aliens are not just gonna abduct us and do nothing?"

He looks up to me. "What does Peyton think about this?"

"Why are you inserting her into this conversation?" I retort.

He smirks. "You haven't told her, have you?"

I make the mistake of hesitating and he takes that as my answer.

"Of course you haven't, you know she'd call you crazy."

"I haven't told her yet," I clarify. "I'm her best friend, there's no way she wouldn't believe me."

He simply snickers in response.

"Anyway," I sigh, "So what's our next course of action? What should we do first?"

He lifts his brows. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, we are gonna have to speak out about this, aren't we? I was thinking we'd go on local stations first-"

"Wait," he cuts me off, "you aren't seriously thinking of going on the radio to say this, are you?"

I huff. "Of course I am! We were literally abducted by aliens, we can't just keep that to ourselves. This is the best course of action."

"I don't want that," he says curtly, slowly picking up his bag from the ground.

"What? What don't you want?"

"To be a madman," he answers, placing the strap on his shoulder. "The whole drama that comes with that, I don't want it."

"Well we literally have no choice," I argue. Why isn't he on board with this as I am? We just had a terrifying experience last night, we can't just leave it at that and forget about it.

"Delilah-"

"Dee is just fine."

He rolls his eyes. "Anyway, the truth is, even if we go out there, nothing's gonna be done to help us."

I huff. "You don't know that. There was this madman who said he was experimented on by top notch scientists when he spoke out about his encounter. I believe the same would be provided for us."
