"You're enjoying this aren't you?" I ignored her but I'm hoping she didn't see the slight smirk that curled on one corner of my lips.

...

It was strangely silent for a bit. I keep looking to see if she had fallen asleep but she's still studying, focused for once. So, is it possible for her to focus? That's a good sign then.

But I was wrong, oh so wrong. Just when I went back to my paperwork, I heard her DDD playing mellow music. I glared at her. "Nixie..."

"What?? But it helps me focus more...." She pouted.

"...It's distracting me..."

"Fine..." She hesitantly turned the music off. Then I remembered, we didn't exactly provide them with some earphones with the DDD. I sighed. "Alright, you can play your music. But keep it down."

She was utterly shocked for a moment but then brightened up like the sun. She turned her music back on and continued to study.

"I've been sleepless at night, 'cause I don't know how I feel. I've been waiting on you just to say something real. There's a light on the road and I think you know. Morning has come and I have to go."

I can't help but listen to the song. It sounds so pleasing and smooth. The woman's voice is also so beautiful it could lull me to sleep. I remembered Diavolo telling me that Nixie's preference in music is hip hop or rap music. He was laughing when he told me and Barbatos, over and over, how explicit the rap song was, that she sang for the villagers back in Terrasia. Even the kids started swearing after hearing her. But this song is anything but a rap song. Not even close. This sounds more like indie folk. And I, to my surprise, like it. Even the lyrics.

I felt goosebumps crawl through my arm up to my neck. "What's that song?" She looked at me with wide eyes. It took me by surprise as well. "Uhm, Let It All Go by Birdy and Rhodes... "

"Turn it up." I quickly told her as I looked down on my papers to work. She confusedly turned up her music.

After that she continued to play songs similar to that one. I'd have to ask for her playlist later. So she listens to different genres of songs and not just rap music, depending on her mood or what she's doing I assume. I don't know why it makes me happy.

I BLACKED OUT!

I snapped my head up and looked at the time. 12am. I searched for Nixie and she's still there. Still studying? But she'd find a rather comfortable position on the sofa because now she's laying on it. Her legs up where your back is supposed to be leaning on if you're a normal person. Her arms are raised up in the air with a book in her hands. She was reading it. How is she finding this comfortable, I will never know.

I quickly patted my pockets and I sighed in relief. My wallet is where I left it this time. When I attempted to straighten my back I felt my coat slowly sliding off me. I grabbed it. She might've put it on me while I was unconscious. Her songs have put me to sleep. Now I wonder if she did that on purpose... But she does look innocent this time.

Nixie's POV:

"Nixie. That's enough for tonight." I turned to see Lucifer getting up from his chair. I checked the time and HOLY SHET it's midnight. I didn't even notice. I'm pretty sure I read past our current lessons but I didn't realize I've been studying for hours. I got off my comfy position on the sofa and jumped off. Good music really gets me in the zone. But I have to turn it off now. Heh, my music definitely put him to sleep though. Now I know to always play them around him to make him fall asleep. Then I don't have to deal with him as much.

I stuffed my things inside my bag and Lucifer walked me out to the entrance hall before stopping. I looked at him confused. He started running his finger on the side tables. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!??! He brought his index finger up to his face and rubbed it with his thumb. He hummed.

Fuming, I asked him, "Are you satisfied with my services, MASTER?" He looked away. "Could be better, but that'll do."
