Scar was just trying to do a prank. He was just trying to put the creeper in the middle of everyone and kill it. He did not mean to hit it into Grian. But he did. He Killed Grian
He thought for sure Grian was going to be mad. All that Scar could think of to make it up to him was to owe his first life to him and do everything Grian tells Scar to do.
Once Grian got back from spawn where he spawned back in Scar proposed his offer to Grian. Grian accepts because a life debt is useful sometimes, especially in death worlds like 3rd Life
Grian leads Scar to where he made his house and they lived in it for a bit because while they're both yellow and green they can try to have a little bit of peace. Scar goes around and tries to sell reputation points to others while Grian guards the hobbit hole now with the threat that he can go red at anytime but then Grian falls while trying to push Scar away from a ravine and he's red now.
Somehow after that Scar manages to convince Grian to move their entire base of operations to the desert because that would be a great decision and Scar said it in a way that Grian can't refuse.
