High School Cliche

The New Kids

- Tae-Min's POV -

Hey, I'm Tae. On the surface I may strike you as your hot popular womaniser but... who am I kidding? I'm a walking gay flag. Which is hell, now you may be wondering 'Tae why is being gay hell?' Well lets just say I somehow got involved in the most high school cliché scheme ever. I'm the weird gay kid who gets bullied by the tough jock, his name is Alcander in my case, who is so clearly closeted. His 'gang' love to make my friends and I's life miserable just because they can't handle the smallest amount of difference and we just sit back and take it. Sounds like every cliché queer story right? However, my story is a little different, you see I don't have that strong hot guy that saves me. Unless we're counting Daniel, and honestly no one is counting him. Ever. In case you don't now (which you probably don't you've never met us) Dan is a very close friend of mine, he's dumb as fuck but we love him. 'We? Tae who's we?' Well remembered how I said I have friends? Yeah I wasn't lying, we're the only queer kids in school and overall I think there is 10 of us, yes 10 openly queer kids in a school of 2,983. Obviously we aren't assuming we're the ONLY queers but honestly it seems that way. Now we get to the cliché section of the day where I introduce you all to my friends. We'll start off with Raven, yes her real name is Raven she is not some edgy goth who wanted a name change. She's my lesbian, yes my lesbian. We have the gay/lesbian solidarity bond which is great until some random woman tells you that you're a cute couple. Then we have Toni, lovely girl, only she never shuts up about her partners. Cherry is a sweetheart, she bakes us cookies all the time. Julian is too smart, like seriously he isn't even meant to be in high school with us, he graduated at 11 but he's back just because he was bored? Mark is great, quiet and loves photography, nothing much to him. Evelynn is great, she is short and will kick your ass if you say shit about her friends. Then there's Dan who we discussed earlier. Finally there's Analise and Andrew. They're twins and honestly you couldn't even tell. They're so different.
Well now you've all had the pleasure of learning about the queers at Oak Hills let's move on.

8:30 am on a Monday morning. Teens dragging their feet as they approach the gates of the large brick building. Dreading the day ahead. No matter who you were you all had one thing in common. Monday Sucks. Especially now with the new principal's 'Marvellous Monday Morning Announcement' nothing ever good could come out of them, like seriously who does she think we are? Elementary kids? I always walk to school with Ev and Dan. I swear they bitch like siblings, it's endearing. Apparently there's a rumour going around about new kids joining our school. It better be true, we need new people to shake the place up a bit, maybe bring some colour to the oh so very boring place.

After attendance was taken in home room we all sat and listened to the announcements. Turns out the rumours were true, we have 3 new kids joining, siblings it seems. And- OH MY GOD- sorry, I just saw one of the new kids, he's in my home room?! God he's cute. Okay stop being gay Tae focus. Oh of course. The teacher sat him right beside me.

- Third Person POV -

Tae was pulled from his thoughts when the teacher announced the new kid would be sitting beside him. He gulped, a cute guy sitting by him all year? How was he meant to not get a crush? He sits beside him and smiles.
"Hey. I'm Tommaso. You can call me Tom."
"Uh- hey I'm Tae-Min." Tae smiles. "You can call me Tae."
"Nice to meet you. Tae."
"You too."

That was about the most exciting part of Tae's day. It was Monday after all and nothing exciting ever happens on a Monday. Well besides having the new kid sitting beside you, and being in 3 of your least favourite classes.

It was now lunchtime and Tae would not shut up about Tom.
"God would you just shut up? We get it, he's cute." Daniel says.
"Dan you sound jealous, its just one of those crushes Tae gets every year when he's sat beside a clearly straight jock." Raven says laughing.
"Uhm- A: no crush on him. B: do bi and pan people not exist?" Tae argues.
"Ah nooo I'm fading from existence." Evelynn laughs.

- Tae's POV -

Of course. I mention the new kid and suddenly I have a crush on him. I just think he's cute. Ugh- why am I like this? Seriously, he's been her for 5 hours and I'm like 'omg he's cute'. He could be a dick for all I know, well he's already landed a spot at the jocks table... so that is never good. God I'm crushing on another dickhead, he's gonna find out and be completely disgusted. I can feel it, even more embarrasment.
