Bad decisions had become second nature to me. It had become another way - a different way of dealing with the stress. Sometimes, everything in my head became so complicated, I just needed something to make everything blurred for a while. But, I knew that if anyone ever found out, that they wouldn't understand.

As Tyler passed me that first joint, it seemed like the only thing in the world that mattered at that moment. I put it to my lips, as he lit it for me. I breathed deeply, as it feel like shivers passing through my body. It didn't feel the same as when I'd tried that spliff, this felt more..surreal.

Tyler laughed as he lit his own. "Ashton would kill us if he saw us now," He remarked.

"Yeah, well can you blame him?" I said. "He's had this whole anti-drug thing, after what happened with Nika."

Tyler nodded quietly. Nobody liked to talk about Nika anymore. It was almost like just the presence of her name was a curse. Tyler turned to look up at me, as he faked a smile.

"So, I have a question for you, Mr. Hemmings," Tyler smirked.

"Ask away," I said, taking another hit.

"What's going on with you and Madison?"

I paused for a second, breathing out. "I don't know what you mean. There isn't anything going on."

"Um, that's not what I've heard," He said raising an eyebrow. "She's been saying you two are together now."

I laughed as I looked up at the ceiling of the treehouse. "How ironic," I stated. I used to be the pathetic one who followed her around like a lost puppy. Oh, how the tables had turned.

"Aren't you going to stop her?" Tyler asked me.

I shook my head. "Madison always gets what she wants. I don't care anymore. I mean, it's what everyone else expects."

We sat in silence for a few seconds, as I tapped my fingers against the wooden floor of the tree house. I finished my joint, as I leaned back against the wall. I laughed out loud, as I turned to Tyler.

"Fuck, your eyes are bloodshot," I told him.

"You're one to talk," He laughed as he pulled eyedrops out of his backpack. He dripped a drop into each eye, before handing it to me.

I hated this. I knew the feeling would fade, and I would be left with keeping another secret from everyone - well, everyone except Tyler. But, I knew even though my mind was blurry, there were only two things I couldn't stop thinking about:

The obvious thought - my mom.

The obnoxious thought - Calum.

"What are you thinking about?" Tyler asked me.

"I can't tell you," I said a little too honestly.

"Why not?" He said sounding slightly hurt.

"You'd never forgive me. You'd hate me."

"Come off it," Tyler said pushing my shoulder. "Just tell me."

"I think..I think I'm falling for someone.."

*Calum's POV*

Fuck. That was the only thought going through my mind. I never use my head, and that's what's always getting me into trouble. If it wasn't already the fact that I just broke into a house, and ran from the police, I just pushed away the first person who might have actually care about me in a long time.

I couldn't stop driving. Running away was how I always dealt with my problems. But this time, I didn't have a plan. I saw a turn off, and turned on to a dirt road. I pulled to the side of the street, as I turned off the engine.
