Chapter 15: The White Wedding

Happiness is not ready-made, instead, it comes from your action. And Philip alongside his future bride would be tying the knot in a small yet intimate ceremony in the Cathedral of St. John the divine. Since all the preparations have been prepared before, Philip and Heather did not have to worry much as the mother of the bride has settled everything so her daughter can get married easily without any hassle.

On that memorable day, Heather wore Vera Wang's masterpiece – a short sleeve lace wedding with a high neck and floor-length details. The ivory colour dress was paired up with a cathedral-length veil while her brunette hair has been set half-up, half-down and she looked so beautiful during her big day. Heather walked slowly down the aisle alongside her father, was having a butterfly on her stomach as she could not believe that she would be marrying the guy that she never thought to be the one for her.

Philip took her hand after giving a bow to his father-in-law and both of them were ready to face the future. Reverend Edwards started the ceremony with a few words that highlight the importance of marriage to human races as well as the beauty of love between two people. Then, he asked the two of them to give their wedding vows.

"I, Philip Min-Hyuk Kim will take Heather Ann Miller as my lawfully wedded wife in the presence of God, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better and for worse, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both still together. This is my solemn vow and my promises in the name of God above, I do love you until death do us apart." He declared his undying love towards Heather with the vows he spoke. He looked at Heather, waiting for her to give her wedding vows.

Right before she could speak her vow, Malcolm came and was crashing the union between his former flame and the man that had just taken her from him. That photographer could not accept the truth that Heather already married another man – inside the place that was supposed to be their union. One more thing, he just found out about the wedding on Instagram and without looking back, he quickly went to the cathedral to stop the wedding.

"I demand this wedding to cancel. I object to their union." Malcolm said furiously, was mad at Philip who had just stolen Heather from him. Everyone was looking at him with a lot of expressions and Philip who was always in a cool state, almost lost his composure when the man that has given Heather a hard time became the barrier to his union with his woman.

"Malcolm Hendrix, I ask you to get out from here." To stop him from marching any further, Mr Miller requested the former fiancé of his daughter to get out of the cathedral as what he did to his daughter was unpardonable.

Instead of listening to Mr Miller, Malcolm went to the front and was ready to punch Philip in the face – but he was messing with the wrong man. Philip has a black belt in taekwondo and he did not hesitate to use what he had learned during his youth so he could defend himself from the wrath of Malcolm.

"Dear Mr. Hendrix, if you do not want me to charge you with an assault... please get out from here or else, see me in court next time. Moreover, you just trespass our wedding uninvited and I think it's a crime too. So, I hope you don't get any trouble with a prosecutor." He explained to him about all the crimes that he did alongside a warning so he would not dare to mess up with him anymore.

"Heather, please. Aren't you loving me anymore?" This time, he begged for Heather's mercy but all the pains he made her go through have made her bland with him. Yes, she does love Malcolm with all of his heart but he is no longer an important person in her life.

"Even I was the one that broke our engagement, but you were the reason why my heart aches so badly. Thank you for all the good and bad memories, but I just want to have my own happiness with Philip. And you are my history." She stated it emotionlessly. Why should she bother about the man that had given her a hard time before?
